
Roxi Thoren
Professor Roxi Thoren is Department Head and Stuckeman Chair of Integrated Design in Penn State's Department of Landscape Architecture. She researches the integration of productivity in landscape architectural design, including a series of research and design projects around agriculture, forestry, and power. Thoren is the co-author of Farmscape: The Design of Productive Landscapes, and author of Landscapes of Change, listed by the ASLA as a 2014 Top Ten book in landscape architecture. She has been published in the Landscape Review, Landscape Architecture Magazine, the Journal of Landscape Architecture and the Journal of Architectural Education. She is currently writing a book on forestry as a design inquiry.Thoren is a Fulbright Fellow, a Landscape Architecture Foundation research fellow, and a recipient of research and design awards from the Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture, the American Society of Landscape Architects, and the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards.
