PDF Compress 1.0
A small utility to effectively reduce the size of PDF files
Program info
PDF compress is a tiny utility that reduces the total size of Portable Document Format (PDF) files. With this program, it is very easy to take some PDF file (just created with any virtual PDF printer or OpenOffice), compress it and save it elsewhere. But there is another interesting task that this program performs perfectly: it is able to write/change metadata in PDF files, like author, title, subject and keywords. Then you just press 'Save' and there you go.
The best of all is that there are no complicated options or useless step-by-step wizards. Everything is displayed under a single-window user interface, very clear and simple (although its design could be improved a bit). The bad thing it's the lack of batch processing, a very common task for those who deal with several documents in their daily work. However, you can think that maybe this feature was sacrificed in order to gain more simplicity of use (like the Worse is Better, aka New Jersey style, methodology). All in all, we have here a freeware and easy-to-use program, which does its work fast and effectively. It seems you might to give it a try.
