Back in the dark ages (the late 70's) I was attending night classes for college. I had to write a paper so I chose to write about my oldest daughter, who was also attending college.
The last line of my paper said "she has roots for anchors and wings for flying".
Imagine my surprise when an ad for Dodge came on tv the other day with one of the usual young blonde singers standing in front of a large tree singing that she had "roots and wings".
Hmmmm.

It's only Feb. 2nd, but can we rewind this year? Yesterday my only sister passed away. It was not expected.
She went to take a nap and when her husband went to check on her she was gone.
She was a year older than me and there were just the two of us, so we were close.
To make matters worse, I cannot go to her funeral. It is over an eight hour drive and I am still considered to be highly contagious. I have c-diff. Look it up if you want.

Just when I am starting to feel better (I still need asistance in daily living and walking), I had to put my beloved Koko to sleep, he"s the small brown dog in my icon. He was totally blind and deaf and in the past few weeks became disoriented. He was 14.
I'm heartbroken.

A big thank you to everyone who sent their best wishes. I am still to weak to sit at the computer for too long, but know I am thankful.

It's been a very interesting 2 months. I developed an abscess under my right arm and before I got to the hospital it broke. they operated to remove it but infection spread thru my system and they had to dose me with gallons of antibiotics, which caused further problems. As a result, I spent the next 6 weeks in hospitals and nursing homes. I am home now, but can't get my legs under me and need help in everything I do.

I always suspected that TV reporters were as dumb as a box of rocks (oh for the days of Walter Cronkite and Edward Murrow).
But now I have proof. I was watching a news (?) program and they switched to a reporter who was covering a comic book convention. She walked up to someone dressed in a complete Batman costume and asked (you can't make this stuff up people)--she asked "who are you dressed as?"

I am about to whine. Go past if you don't want to hear it.
Let's see, cancer 3x, check; mini stroke, check; irregualr heart beat, check.
So, my mammogram last week showed "something", I needed a biopsy. I won't describe the procedure as it isn't the usual biopsy and would make guys squeemish. I haven't gotten the results yet, but next day woke up with a terrible back ache. As it was Saturday, I had to wait to go to the doctor. Went today and he took one look at me and said it's not your back, YOU HAVE A MAJOR CASE OF SHINGLES. The back ache was the virus affecting the nerve endings.
What next?
