The PCICS Connections Committee serves as a vital link between the Society and its current and prospective members, fostering communication, education, and meaningful engagement. Comprising 21 dedicated physicians, nurses, and advanced practice providers, the committee operates through five focused subcommittees:

Together, these teams work to connect with the broader pediatric cardiac intensive care community—informing, educating, and advocating through accessible and dynamic platforms.

The DEI Committee is dedicated to advancing diversity, fostering cultural humility and competency among pediatric cardiac intensive care clinicians worldwide, and championing health equity for children with heart disease.

The Education Committee leads the development and delivery of continuing education initiatives for PCICS, aligning with the Society’s mission to disseminate current knowledge and empower the global community of pediatric cardiac critical care providers.

This multidisciplinary team—comprising nurses, advanced practice providers, and physicians—collaborates across specialized subcommittees and partners with international groups and other PCICS committees. Together, they create new educational resources, update existing content, and ensure global accessibility.

The Finance Committee is responsible for safeguarding the fiscal health and long-term sustainability of PCICS. It provides strategic financial oversight to the Board, including budget development, financial reporting, policy guidance, audits, investments, and revenue generation.

The International Committee fosters global collaboration by supporting education, resource-sharing, training, and mentorship for pediatric cardiac ICU professionals in low- and middle-income countries. Through a growing international network, the committee works to expand access to knowledge and strengthen clinical capacity worldwide.

The Program Committee is responsible for planning and delivering the PCICS Annual Meeting, ensuring a high-quality educational and networking experience for attendees. In addition, the committee provides oversight and strategic direction for the Webinar Subcommittee, supporting year-round virtual learning opportunities.

The QI-S Committee is committed to advancing quality and safety science across pediatric cardiac intensive care through education, resource development, and innovative initiatives. Its mission is to equip clinicians with the tools and knowledge to lead impactful quality improvement (QI) efforts within their institutions and the broader PCICS community.

The Research Committee leads the advancement of scientific inquiry within PCICS by promoting collaborative research, guiding scholarly activities, and supporting the dissemination of impactful findings. Its mission is to foster a culture of inquiry and innovation that drives progress in pediatric cardiac critical care. Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting and coordinating multi-site research collaborations
• Reviewing abstracts and research surveys submitted to the Society
• Developing and distributing white papers on critical topics in the field
• Selecting and showcasing poster presentations at the PCICS Annual Meeting
• Overseeing the PCICS survey process to ensure scientific rigor and relevance
