The Pattern Analysis and Computer Vision (PAVIS) research unit was founded in 2009 by Vittorio Murino, who coordinated it until 2019. In 2019, the coordination was taken over by Alessio Del Bue. In 2026, Vittorio Murino resumed the coordination of the research unit and currently serves as its principal investigator.
The PAVIS research unit is actively developing an artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure to understand our physical space and the human behaviors within it.
