Free Monthly Quilt Block Patterns

Microchip Quilt Block
This month’s free blocks from Quilt Block Mania are designed around the theme of TECHNOLOGY.
How many ways can quilters relate to technology? As I found out, in almost everything we do!
I designed a microchip block to share with you this month. The link is found a few paragraphs below.
Through a short Google search about microchips, I learned they’re made of silicon, which can conduct electricity. Silicon is the second most abundant element in the Earth’s crust. Sand is the most available source of silica on Earth. Microchips are tiny and function as the brains and memory of almost every electronic thing we use in the modern world!

My quilt block is made using only 2 fabrics and rectangles and squares. The sewing is straightforward. The directions give step-by-step instructions. While I saw most pictures of microchips being black, feel free to choose your own colors for the background and the chip.
