Farm Fields Quilt Block

This month QBM designers are featuing FARM-THEMED quilt blocks.

Such a variety of quilt blocks for you to gather and make a fun quilt, wall hanging, table runner, or something else!

The pattern I designed for this month illustrates the rays of morning sun shining on fields of various colored crops.  I call it Farm Fields at Dawn.

Sunshine on farm fieldsThe sky and rays of sunshine are foundation paper pieced.

The gentle curves of the sun and fields use an easy method of pressing the curved edge and gluing it behind the fabric. Then positioning it on the seamline of the sunshine section and top stitching by machine, or hand stitching, it to the sunshine section.

Important: Beginning at 9 AM EST, you can get my block for free when you enter the code: SUNSHINE at check-out. (The box to tick for Coupon Code is small and midway down the checkout page.
