welcome, all!
bearing an eponym inspired by anna paquin’s gregarious character in the 2000 film “almost famous,” >polexia<, is one of my first from-scratch digital modular synthesis patches, a simple though stimulating techno loop. the name derives from a pair of ancient greek words – polys (many) and xenos (foreigner, guest, stranger) – connoting affirmation of multiplicity and otherness. this multifaceted implement is suitable for a wide range of applications, including but not limited to meditative practice and artistic interpolation.
this patch contains two fm synthesizers that generate pulsing notes at slightly offset pitches, subsequently treated with reverb and set atop a four-on-the-floor kick drum pattern. moreover, a voltage-controlled sawtooth wave emits deep growls that fill the aural space between the previously mentioned elements. one or more of three low-frequency oscillators intermingle with each instrument (i.e., note 1, note 2, bass, drum). finally, I routed these signals through a mixer and an oscilloscope before sending them to the main output, multimodal channels across which visitors can interact with the waveform of each section independently.

I love it. A small but complex patch.
@frankhalliday wow, thank you so much!!
