[v. 0.2] MicroMIDI takes incoming MIDI and outputs it again in any microtonal equal temperament from 1 to 53 notes per octave. To obtain polyphony, each note is individually reassigned and given the appropriate amount of pitch bend on MIDI channels 1 through 8. Therefore each of these channels should be set to the same instrument on whatever device the Organelle is controlling. Disable “MIDI in” and “MIDI out” in the “MIDI Setup” menu, otherwise when you play the Organelle keys the un-retuned notes get patched through as well. (You have to scroll down to hit “Save” after disabling MIDI in and out.) This patch assumes your MIDI instrument is set to the standard pitch bend range of +/- 2 semitones.
Knob 1 sets the number of notes per octave.
Knob 2 selects the octave for middle C
Knob 3 will send program change numbers 1-128 to each of the 8 channels.
Works with the MIDI ins and outs on the back of the instrument, and equally well via the USB port on a Casio piano playing its own sounds (after turning off local control).
Version 0.2 adds an octave selector. I’m noticing that if you mash lots of keys some of the notes will hang. Haven’t found a way to fix it so maybe don’t do that, but if you turn any of the three knobs the stuck notes will stop.
