Old method using Unetbootin. Use Rufus if you are a Windows user.

PLEASE USE THE NEWEST VERSION OF UNETBOOTIN FOUND HERE

Step 1: Buy the ISO image from the Downloads page.

Step 2: Mount the USB drive. Depending on your OS, it might be mounted automatically. If you can see the contents of the USB, it’s mounted.

Step 3: Start Unetbootin. Ignore the the Distribution button. Use the Diskimage button near the bottom instead.

Do not do this:

unetbootin01

Do this:

unetbootin02

Step 4: Click on the button with 3 dots at the very end of the row. Select the Parted Magic iso image from the location on your hard disk.

Important! Say “Yes to All” when it promts. Unetbootin overwrites a few of the files already set in place from the Parted Magic iso image. It’s completely safe to do this.

Step 5: Reboot the computer and make sure your BIOS/uEFI is set to boot from your USB drive first. Some computers you can just click F12 and select it from a list.

Warning : Older versions of UNetbootin are known to produce non-booting USB sticks for recent Parted Magic ISOs. It is recommended therefore to use the UNetbootin version as provided by Parted Magic (hint: start the CD) or with your favorite Linux or Windows to download the current version from here and use that version *).

*) That version is statically linked, so there will no library problems or the like.
