Badger – paper cutting ready to wax

Here’s a few photos of what’s on my desk in my studio this week.

The top photo is part of a commission I’m working on and the photo of the badger is for my website shop.  This year I’m trying to keep my shop stocked up with new and exciting work.  They’ll be new pieces released every month on my website, so they’ll be plenty of new work to buy and admire.

I’ll be posting on my Facebook and Twitter to let you all known when they’ll be released.  Also I’m having a sale of work, mugs and other gifts at bargain prices, I’ll release the dates of this soon.  I’m trying to have a clear out of my studio ready for new stock.

Have a great weekend folks and remember #neverstopexploring

Its Thursday …..

Heres a little inspirational quote straight from Sprocket.

Be your own hero

Be your own hero

Its one of my favourite quotes too, obviously Sprocket sees fit to dress for the occasion.  He loves dressing as a super hero and he’s definitely my little hero.

Super Sprocket to the rescue.

This morning we headed into Dalby Forest on a mission to take photos of my new t-towels, didn’t quite go according to plan but we had a lovely few hours together.  We met three deers running through the forest which caused a little bit of mayhem on Sprockets behalf. I think Sprocket thinks in a past life he was a deer because he goes wild wanting to run with them.  For the next ten minutes he pranced around showing off some fancy footwork.  So pleased he was on the lead at the time otherwise I’d still be chasing him!  He’s a silly beggar.  Whilst walking in the forest I always find my mind wanders and I end up thinking of all sorts and to day I realised Sprocket is going to be nine this year!  Time has gone so fast and I really do appreciate every moment with him and Edison.

Here’s a few photos from our adventures this morning.  Sprocket posing, Sprocket wearing a t-towel and a Ski t-towel hanging in the trees.  Yes I know it needs ironing so this weekend I’m heading on to the moors to take more t-towel photos with my big camera and they’ll be no creases I promise.

Have an awesome weekend folks and remember to make time to explore and have an adventure, you won’t regret it.

I was featured ……

I was featured in my local paper, the Whitby Gazette.

Exciting!!!  What a great article written by the lovely Helen Le Roux.  Helen came up to my studio in Fryupdale a few weeks ago.  We sat in my studio drinking coffee and chatting about my work and her very interesting life and travels.  Its nice having visitors because often I don’t have many due to my location.  Fryupdale is considered remote to some people but to me its home and not far from civilisation.  We are in the middle of the North Yorkshire Moors and 25 mins from Whitby, 35 minutes from Pickering and 30 minutes from Guisborough.

Oops

Its a little late but I did release it on Instagram and Facebook yesterday evening!

Heres Sprocket catching a ride on a whale, Sprockets off on his adventures again.  Maybe its only a once a week adventure but he’s getting out and about on his boat at the moment with a little help from his friends.  It takes a long time when you’re just rowing 😉

Where will Sprocket end up next week, your guess is as good as mine.

Will he meet any one else on his journey this week?

Sprocket Explores the coast

ahoy2

Its quickly come back round to Monday so here’s my second coastal themed Sprocket illustration.  Sailor Sprocket ‘ahoy’ the best sailor this side of Whitby. btw that’s not a real pipe its just a pretend one!  All sailors have pipes right?  He’s just trying to blend in.  You’ll also notice that cute anchor tattoo and that big beard!

If you’ve got any requests then please let me know, we’ll do our best 🙂

Have a great week

Sprocket explores the coast

New to mondays …..

Sprocket explores the coast

Sprocket explores the coast

After such a great response to 100 days of Sprocket and Christmas Sprocket, I’ve decided to do a regular Monday slot for Sprocket explores the coast.  Every Monday I’ll release a new illustration inspired by the coast.  I don’t live far from the coast and I get asked all the time by locals for more coastal images so I’m exploring the coast with Sprocket.

If you’ve got any requests then let me know x

So get set for a great adventure and keep your eyes open every Monday for a new coastal illustration.

Its 2016 …..

Me and sprocket have got lots of things planned and many adventures to come in 2016.  We’ve also got some awesome new items to add to our shops.

We wanted to thank you for all your support in 2015 and I hope you’ll carry on liking and commenting on my work.

NEWS NEWS NEWS

I’m having a BIG sale.  So I’ll have lots of lovely things on sale with up to 40% off the original price, and to top it off the price will have P&P included.  I’m having a clear out of our studio so we are making space for new stock!

The sale will be on my site and I’ve started adding items to it, just takes a little time with the internet on the moors been so slow.

The sale will not be on my ETSY shop but just on my own website.  I’ll hopefully be adding items daily so watch this space. They’ll be t-towels, mugs, cards, notebooks and lots more.  Once it’s gone it’s gone.
