The survey was based upon the principle that past human activity and its associated debris usually creates slight but persistent changes in the local magnetic environment. Both topsoil magnetic measurements and localised magnetometer survey were employed. The survey produced a single ephemeral anomaly, curvilinear and magnetically negative in nature, which was seen to correspond in part with a subtle topographic hollow. A zone of disturbed ground along the northern extremity of the sports field was also apparent; the nature of these signals, which were dominated by ferrous and other highly magnetic material, suggests this disturbance to be of relatively recent origin.

A number of new features were recorded of probable Romano - British date. In addition a small ring ditch, possibly Beaker period was also identified.

The relationship between the earthworks and interior are magnetically well defined. The site is within the Larkhill military training area and is relatively well preserved i.e. the site has seen minimal agricultural activity.
