His research primarily focuses on newly discovered molecules, hepcidin and ERFE, and their potential implications in iron overload and iron deficiency disorders. His interests span physiology, hematology, and biochemistry, with future research concentrating on the molecular pathways of iron regulatory molecules.
Previously, Dr. Burhan served as the Director of the Scientific Department and Marketing Manager at Sagepharma, one of Iraq's leading pharmaceutical companies, where he trained over 300 supervisors and representatives over a span of 10 years. Currently, he works as a Manuscript Development Editor at Code of Science, focusing on enhancing the quality, clarity, and scientific precision of manuscripts while collaborating with authors to meet publication standards.

The authors point out inconsistencies and confusing requirements that researchers encounter while preparing manuscripts. They focus on issues related to the title page, main manuscript, references, tables and figures, statements, and checklists. Some journals ask for repetitive information that's already provided during submission or present in the manuscript. There's inconsistency in formatting author contributions on the title page. The paradox arises when some journals require a nonanonymous title page, while others ask for anonymity. Moreover, certain journals mandate authors to address 20-25 questions via an online system, which must also be included on the title page. This burden is seen in examples like PeerJ, PLOS ONE, and Medicine, Hepatology.
