Maybe I'm slow, but it didn't really hit me until this morning what an enormous compliment it is for Ohio State that the whole nation is wondering what's wrong... because we are (were) 5 and 2.

No matter what your diagnosis is (and believe me, I don't care what your diagnosis is) the uproar is a huge compliment for OSU and for Tressel both.

I adore the game of football, but one of these days the retarded fans and the meat-head analysts will ruin the sport for good. I don't know what makes me want to punch someone in the face more: when people talk about how wonderful our defense is... or when people talk about how horrible our offense is. Neither is true, and neither has been true all season.

Our defense gets the ball, and stays on the field for eight centuries because they are patently incapable of two things: 1) they can not stop short yardage plays. Ever. 2) they can not stop any offense anywhere until they reach the red zone.

So our offense finally gets to take the field, sometimes once per quarter. Pryor runs for his life for three downs, throws to avoid being gang raped, it's incomplete or intercepted, and our defense comes back on the field for another few centuries of brain-numbing mediocrity between the twenties...

AND THE TALKING HEADS WONDER WHY PRYOR ISN'T PROGRESSING. C'us, you know, he's had so very many series and such a stalwart offensive line.

We are 5-2. We deserve to be. The sky is not falling. The children of Somalia are not weeping for our terrible plight. Grow a soul, people.

The Buckeye Fever pregame show just went to commercial break with a teaser, something about how everyone on the team will have to come together to get things back on track.

Back on track?

We're 5 and 1.

Come on, people. No wonder we fans are miserable all season every season.

Edit: So help me, the first bastard who replies with "5 and 2" will be strangled.

something needed to be done to counteract the weird inner turmoil buckeyes worldwide experienced as a result of tonight's mnf game which featured a 53 yd td pass from chad henne to teddy ginn... hence, one of the most glorious songs ever written.

i'm lucky enough to be a member of the dc alumni club, and they play this song every week at game watch parties at rhino bar in georgetown. if you're in the area, i highly recommend it.

I am finding that I just am not that excited about Buckeye football this year.
It seems like we pretty much own the Big Ten, with maybe one or two scary games and then the Michigan game, but when we play outside the division, we get our ass beat.

I mean, am I the only one that doesnt care that we beat Wisconsin? Big deal. Lets play USC or Florida or Alabama or some other ranked teams and actually compete?

The Big East has developed a bit of a reputation as the Rodney Dangerfield of the major BCS conferences-getting no respect. Despite the fact that they fielded a number of talented teams, and produced no fewer than 3 first round draft picks in the NFL Draft. The fact is, there’s plenty of talent to be had out of the Big East, and with a number of interesting stories happening at a number of schools, the Big East may well produce another new conference champion, and another school may rise from the ashes to see itself in a BCS Bowl. With a variety of schemes being employed, and with some top tier talent in the conference, there’s no shortage of exciting games on the schedule, and no shortage of teams primed to shatter the perception of the Big East as a second tier conference. With a lot of teams to like, and none that stand out, SportsLife will break down the grain from the chaff. READ MORE HERE.
