    Hi there,

Kudos for organizing the OSRcon. I love the name, but can’t attend due to the date.

I wish you great success, but would strongly urge you to consider running the conference earlier in the summer and farther away from GenCon in the future.

All the best this year, Greg

    Thanks Greg!

I agree about the time. I didn’t have a lot of room to maneuver. I hope we can move it away from GenCon next year.

  3. Hi there. I am considering running a Dungeon Crawl Classics game at OSRcon. What do I need to do to make that happen?

      Hi Daniel,
That would be great. We haven’t had anything Goodman Games so far.
All you need to do is register when registration opens and let me know what game you want to run and during which sessions.
I’ll have firmer details in the near future. Registration usually opens April Fool’s Day, which is when you should check back.
      Hope that helps,
      Chris

I worked at MGA and knew Wally and Karen (and Ron and Eric and several others). Your post sure took me back. Thank you.

Missed OSRCon this year. Very interested in attending in 2014 or helping organize. -mw

OSRCon seems to be defunct. If anyone is listening, is there any way we can get this back up on its feet?

    • brasspen's avatar brasspen says:

Sure. It could be brought back. What would you like to see?

      • deee Beee's avatar deee Beee says:

I’d love to see more memories (and pictures) of the old shops and the gaming scene in Toronto. I’d like to connect with players – I’m pushing 60 and I’ve lost a few old gaming friends. I never made it to any of the OSRCons, so I’d love to see that back, and I am willing to put my shoulder to the wheel. Also, I want to know how that Arduin mural turned out.

Thanks for the quick reply. I appreciate that. Take care.

I’m not sure where to get pictures of those old stores. It’s a good question. The Arduin mural was great. But it overpowered the apartment after a while, so I painted over it with normal paint. I’ve got a photo, so that’s OK. Did you know about OSRCon before and just never went? If there was an OSRCon what games would you like to play?

I’d love to see a picture of the inside of the Battered Dwarf. That would bring back some deep dish memories.

Post the pick of the mural, man. I’d love to see it.

I did not know about it when it was happening, unfortunately. My kids were pretty young then and I was frequently distracted by them and by work… you know the drill. I’d be into playing almost anything that would fit the theme. I have very fond memories of Daredevils and Aftermath, though when I play those now I adapt them to d100. I’d be into Mythras or Against the Darkmaster which are newish but very old school in tone. I love DCC and its derivatives, especially Mutant World which is very much like Gamma World. If I’m really dreaming I see a world where I am playing Earthdawn and D&D Darksun or Al Qadim. Dang, bro, I’m just into playing. Did I mention Gangbusters (old school or B/X)? Call of Cthuhlu? Mothership? Twilight 2000? D&D and AD&D and all of its little children (OSE, Osric, et al)?I haven’t even named all the games I’d be more than happy to play. It was starting to look like a Christmas list though…
