H'angus The Bull

To try and cover as many options for  my Chaos Chosen team, I picked up another 3d printed minotaur. Instead of using black for the flesh like the Beastmen I went for a dark red.

I also had an idea to create a Chaos Champion and to use the rules in Death Zone to create my own star player. The base of the model is one of the Khorne blockers, removed a few of the spikes amd replaced the head. Just need to think of a suitable name.

As the league slowly draws to a close, 2 more games were completed

Cleaveland Bronze bt Tir na nOg Ravens 1-0
A bruising encounter for the Ravens, as once again they struggled without the ball taking a ton of casualties. The Bronze secured the win and have eyes on a top 4 finish

Gryphon Bloodsox drew LV Raiders 1-1
The Bloodsox are still in search of their first win, throwing away victory in the final turn as the Raiders secured the draw and 3rd place.

Season Update

3 more games were completed this week

Clar Karond Corsairs vs LV Raiders 0-0

This was the first game of the season without a Touchdown. The Raiders did well to shut out the Corsairs in the first half before controlling the ball for much of the second. However the Corsair defence also were implacable as they prevent the Riaders making a late score

Tir na nOg Ravens bt Gryphon Bloodsox 2-1

Ghis was a hard fought encounter for 2 teams that have struggled with consistency all season. The Ravens gamely hung on to secure their second win of the season

Clar Karond Corsairs bt Midshire Giants 2-0

The Corsairs clinched the league with an emphatic win over the giants. They spent most of the game keeping out of the clutches of the treemen before pouncing and taking their opportunities to score.

Score Updates

The Miami Rotters are the first team to complete all of their fixtures, beating the Tir na nOg Ravens 3-0, however only drawing 1-1 with the Midshire Giants. Could it be a costly result? as they reach the top of the table but only by a single point.

The LV Raiders moved themselves into contention with a 1-0 win over the Orkland Raidurz. They are next up against the Corsairs, a win could see them move into title contention.

Gryphon Bloodsox vs Clar Karond Corsairs

The Bloodsox were looking to build on their upturn in fortunes after back to back draws. The Corsairs were still realing from hanging on for a draw in their last game.

The game began with the Corsairs receiving and they immediately got their running game going, smashing through the line of scrummage and on their way to the first score. It was now that Capt. Chaos lived up to his name, from the kick-off he tried to hand off to a Bloodsox blitzer and promptly dropped the ball. The Corsairs quickly pounced and once more raced away gor the score.

So 2-0 down and recieving, once more Capt Chaos promptly dropped the ball on a hand off. Disaster once again as the Corsairs snatched the ball and went in for their 3rd score.

The second half began much better for the Bloodsox as they began to move the ball downfield. Just when a score was beckoning the Witch Elf Nierloth knock the ball carrier over. After a bit of a scramble the Corsairs recovered the ball and began to surge back upfield. Eventually the ball was passed to their star blitzer Corvus the Blade who sliced through the defence for his 3rd score if the match and 7th of the season.

Eventually though things went right for the Bloodsox late in the game as they managed to manoeuvre their way down field to pick up a consolation score. Game finishing 4-1.

In a league round up, the Midshire Giants tackled the Cleaveland Bronze. Despite taking an early lead, they eventually succombed 2-1.

League Update

3 games got under way at the club on Thursday. Sadly only 1 game was played to completion. The other 2 should get finished next week.

Clar Karond Corsairs drew Cleaveland Bronze 2-2

The first game saw the top of the table Clar Karond Corsairs take on the winless Cleaveland Bronze. The Corsairs were looking to pull further away at the top of the table. It was not to be. It has to be said the dice favoured the Chosen of Khorne. Lots of skulls were rolled by the Corsairs. Despite this their star Blitzer managed to bag himself another 2 TDs. However the Bronze led by Lord Borak, preceeded to remove Corsair players at will. They started the 2nd half with just 7 players. Eventually with the extra numbers the Bronze managed to score their 2nd TD on the last turn, picking up their first point of the season.

Game 2 between the Tir na nOg Ravens and the Orkland Raidurz is currently 0-0 going into the 2nd half. The wet conditions hinder both sides trying to get a hold of the ball.

Game 3 sees the LV Raiders currently leading the Midshire Giants 1-0. Hoping  a second win on the bounce to help them move up the table.

League Update

Just a quick update on a couple of league games

Miami Rotters drew with the Gryphon Bloodsox 1-1. After taking an early lead the Bloodsox managed to hang on and claim their second draw on the bounce. For the Rotters this was a missed opportunity to consolidate 2nd place.

LV Raiders bt Cleaveland Bronze 1-0. A scappy game between two sides looking to pick up their first wins of the season. The Raiders took an early lead in the 1st half. The Bronze will be disappointed that they didn't take a couple of opportunities to at least secure a draw.

The Bronze will now go looking for their first win against the undefeated Corsairs, while the Raiders will face the Midshire Giants. The Orkland Raidurz will also hope to be in action against the Tir na nOg Ravens. Both sides looking to get their seasons back on track after recent defeats.

Tir na Nog Ravens vs Clar Karond Corsairs

Well sports fan another intriguing game, with the Ravens taking on the Corsairs. A new challenge for the Corsairs against a team of similar speed and every player with block. With the Corsairs receiving, they once more went for the fast start. Quickly forcing a gap on the right hand side of the line, their Blitzers stormed through. Meanwhile the linemen tried to keep themselves out of harm's way.

A quick dash to the line for their Runner, Reguc the Swift (living up to his name at last after a quiet season) put the Corsairs up 1-0. Now the Ravens received the ball. Quickly gathering the ball after a bad kick off, they began to force their way forward. However 1 missed dodge roll, created a gap and the Corsair blitzers were through to hit the ball carrier. Luck was with the Corsairs as the ball bounced free and was quickly gathered up. The Corsair linemen then quickly marked up the Ravens allowing Corvus the Blade to race away into the endzone for  2-0 lead at half time.

The second half began with the Ravens driving, getting their passing game going, they forced a gap for the ball carrier to race through. With the line looming close the Corsair Witch Elf managed to close the gap and on a 1 on 1 hit managed to free the ball. With Corsair players closing around the ball they began to move forward. The Ravens players were quickly scrambling back to try and get in position.

In a now tried and tested tactic, the Corsair Blitzers moved into position, working in tandem they quickly moved the ball forward, keeping Raven defenders at bay as Corvus the Blade swept through for his second score of the game and a commanding 3-0 lead.

The Ravens though were not dismayed. Receiving the ball, they once again got the passing game going. Moving down the left, they managed to force the opening. A defensive mistake by the Corsairs allowed them to race through and get a score on the board.

So 3 games in and the Corsiars sit at the top of the table. They did though concede their first touchdown of the season in a hard fought game.

In a league round up, the Midshire Giants and Gryphon Bloodsox completed a hard fought game for the first stalemate of the season, 1-1. Both teams missed opportunities for a winning score. The Giants head coach refused to discuss fitness concerns of his team with 3 players managing to fall over and injure themselves.

In another bruising affair the Orkland Raidurz went down 1-0 to the Miami Rotters. Both sides take delight in trying to hurt the opposition. The Raidurz also rued a missed opportunity on the last turn to score a deserved equaliser.

Orkland Raidurz vs Clar Karond Corsairs

An early top of the table clash between the Raidurz and the Corsairs saw a bumper crowd of 80,000 fans. Early doors didn't disappoint as the Corsairs, receiving swept the ball to the right, slipped through a gap in the defensive line. Using their speed advantage, the Corsairs kept themselves out of harms way (a lesson learned against the Rotters) and further exploited the gap. Even the loss of a blitzer being thrown into the crowd failed to stop them racing into an early lead.

Now it was the Raidurz's turn to show what they could do. Gathering the ball after a poor kick, the Orcs looked to form up their cage, led by the Troll and Big un blockers. Slowly moving into position The Corsair linemen responded by dropping deep to cover for a flying goblin. While their blitzers circled looking for an opening. Sure enough an even hit on the ball carrier managed to scatter the ball free. The luck of the bounce went the way of the Corsairs. Gratefully collecting the ball, they quickly moved downfield. The slower Raidurz players could only look on as they went 2-0 down.

Once more from the kick off the Raidurz began to move downfield again. Once more the Corsairs dropped off, keeping themselves away from the powerful orc line. The Corsairs managed to slow the Raidurz down enough to get to half time with their lead intact.

The Raidurz had to do it all again in the second half, using their drive to slowly move downfield. Once more the Corsait blitzers circled looking for an opportunity. The opportunity did come from an unlikely source. The Raidurz Troll picked up and threw his Goblin teammate. However unlike against the Bloodsox, the throw went awry with the goblin crashing to the floor and spilling the ball.

Once more luck was with the Corsairs as they quickly gathered the bouncing ball before swinging it left into the open field. With Raidurz defenders scrambling to get back into position, the Corsairs went fot the throw. It failed miserably, fumbling the ball. The gleeful Orcs quickly regathered before sending a long pass deep into the Corsair half. Unfortunately they couldn't gather the pass as it scattered. Both sides then scrambled for the ball to no avail. Times up with the Corsairs holding on for a 2-0 win.

Another 2 league games were also completed. The Miami Rotters polished off the Cleaveland Bronze 2-0. It was a brutal affair with 17 players either injured or knocked out in the game. Both sides also suffered a fatality.

The Tir na nOg Ravens battled past the LV Raiders and a closely fought encounter. Eventually holding on for a 2-1 victory. Elsewhere the Gryphon Bloodsox are taking on the Midshire Giants, so far the Halflings holding their own with the score currently 1-1.

Clar Karond Corsairs vs Miami Rotters

So the second league game got under way with the Corsairs taking on the Rotters. The Rotters lived up to their name, taking every opportunity to comit acts of foul play. Even the referee seemed to take a blind eye to the events.

With the Corsairs receiving, they began to probe on the left to force an opening for their Blitzers. It did not go well. The Rotters managed to close them down on the sidelines and let the game descend into a slugging match. This favoured the Dwarfs.

Eventually the Corsairs managed to extricate themselves and move the ball to the right. Eventually utilising their speed advantage to get into the open field. It came at a cost with 5 Corsair players in the injury box.

It took them to the 8th turn to finally get into the endzone and take the lead. Thankfully the halftime recovery rolls went well and 4 players returned for the second half.

With the 2nd half underway, the Rotters brought the ball up field towards the left of their line. However the Corsairs managed to slip a couple of blitzers through the line.

With the ball carrier isolated the Corsairs blitzed him, scattering the ball. Quickly picking it up they surged to the line for a 2-0 lead.

The remainder of the half saw the Rotters concentrating on taking out Corsair players, however the Referee (unfounded rumours of a half time visit from the Corsair Cheerleaders) decided to take action sending off 2 of the Rotters for foul play.

So the Corsairs off the mark with a hard fought 2-0 win, but on the wrong side of a 5-2 casualty count. Both sides counting the cost with players missing for their next game.

Orkland Raidurz vs Gryphon Bloodsox

The League season began with an early kick off between the Raidurz and the Bloodsox. The Raidurz were looking to avenge their pre-season defeat. They got off to a very quick start. After they received the ball from the kick off, they got the ball into the hands of their Goblin. He was then quickly thrown over the line of scrimmage on the 2nd turn.

Shocked by this the Bloodsox, tried manfully to kickstart their game. It was not to be. Despite getting a hold of the ball, slowly maneuvering the Raidurz line to create a gap, disaster was to strike. An attempt at a quick pass to one of their blitzers was spilled by the thrower, scattering across the line of scrimmage into the hands of a grateful Raidurz blitzer. This was to become a recurring theme for the Bloodsox thrower for the rest of the game. The Orcs quickly formed up a cage and trundled their way to the Bloodsox line and the inevitable score.

Twice more, the Bloodsox failed to complete a pass, ceding possession to the Raidurz. The second half didn't get much better, starting a man down, the Raidurz began to pummel the Bloodsox line, sending 2 more players to the injury box. The Bloodsox gamely hung on in the game only to once more be undone by  a fumbled pass. The Raidurz quickly seized possession before pushing on for their 3rd score.

So the Raidurz got off to a comfortable start, but back to the drawing board for the Bloodsox, they need a game plan to deal with a big guy with the Raidurz Troll causing havoc.

Orkland Raidurz bt Gryphon Bloodsox 3-0

Hopefully another couple of league games next week.
