Our Manifesto

Our manifesto of philosophies and beliefs is the foundation for our vision and guide in carrying out our mission. Our manifesto governs our business decisions from marketing content, service delivery, and human resources to client alignment.

Our governing beliefs are to:

  1. Do the right thing, the right way.
  2. Be curious and open to experience new insights, empathy, and growth.
  3. Be honest with consideration, compassion, and kindness.
  4. Be supportive of others.
  5. Respect and accept people for their beliefs, behaviours, and individual needs regardless of how different they are from yours.
  6. Recognize other’s strengths. We all have something unique and of value to contribute.
  7. Remember we all have lessons to learn. We are a work-in-progress. Be open to learning, changing, and growing. Our mistakes and short comings do not define us.
  8. Seek opportunities for improvement based on reflection of outcomes.

Our manifesto aims to provide psychological safety in the workplace, which is necessary for us to be our best, most productive selves. We are happier when we feel appreciated, included, and accepted.

Carol Simpson

Our Founder and Executive Director

In March 2018, Carol Simpson founded Orbital Learning Inc., a nonprofit specializing in neuroinclusive employment support services, such as training, retention services, and employment mediation. Orbital Learning is all about neuroinclusive employment retention.

Concurrently, she operates an employment agency, Focus Professional Services Inc., a for-profit she founded in October 2014. It specializes in neurodivergent talent placements in professional jobs, i.e., neuroinclusive employment hiring.

Carol’s career has spanned a few decades as a businesswoman and IT professional. She has held executive positions in multi-national organizations and is a serial entrepreneur.

From 2013 – 2014, she led a successful, first-of-its-kind initiative in Canada to hire autistic individuals for professional STEM jobs that afford them solid, middle-class lifestyles. Since then, her repertoire has expanded to include ADHD individuals and diverse sectors, such as the trades, retail, medicine, administration, and management.

Orbital Learning is a passion for Carol. It allows her to combine her considerable business, management, and neurodivergent knowledge to support neuroinclusivity in the workplace. She ‘gets’ neurodiversity. Let her help you ‘get’ it, too.

“I found Carol to be an absolute trustworthy partner, highly professional and business minded as well as dependable and capable. She is results-oriented and delivers to expectations. The successful launch of our Autism … program would not have been possible without Carol’s extraordinary dedication, expertise and support.”
