There are many ways to support Opus 40:

As a Member or with a Gift Membership,

As a Donor

As an Event or Season Sponsor.

We also welcome in-kind donations. Please check out our More Ways to Give page, updated with items Opus 40 is currently seeking and things we can never get enough of – we can’t thank you enough for your support.

Choose an option that works for you. Your gift can be tailored to match your interests. However you decide to engage, your support makes our work possible and allows tens of thousands of people to enjoy art, nature, cultural events and educational offerings on our site each year. Here are a few of our important ongoing development initiatives:

Opus 40 Sculpture Conservation: In 2022, we launched Rock Steady, a special initiative to help match our prestigious Save America’s Treasures Grant toward restoration and repair of our historic bluestone sculpture. We successfully matched that grant and have already made remarkable progress toward restoring this national treasure — saving at-risk walls of the sculpture and rebuilding two areas but much conservation remains.

Fite House Restoration: Now that Fite House has been reunited with the Opus 40 grounds, we are embarking on a broad restoration project to restore the building and make it accessible to the public. You can read more about it HERE.

Harvey’s Studio Reconstruction: Harvey’s 1955 carving studio at the top of the hill has been “lost in time” for many years, and we are now taking the initiate to restore this site so that the public may better understand how Harvey worked.

Acquisition and Conservation of Harvey Fite’s Stone & Wood Sculpture: We would love to bring more of Harvey’s exquisite sculpture work home to Opus 40 and bring in experienced conservators for sculpture repair.

Opus 40 Legacy Project and Archives: This is a long-term initiative to remediate the extensive archives of Harvey and Barbara Fite — including historical photos, films and documents — and to bring them to a permanent climate-controlled environment. Masterplanning: The Board is in the process of doing some deep visioning work for the organization, including finally developing a map of our entire site as well as a Masterplan for future planning purposes. Stay tuned for more news!
