We are glad to welcome Masaryk University, from the Czech Republic, as a new ordinary member of the OPERAS community in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Masaryk University (MU) is a leading Czech research and teaching institution with a mission to contribute through its scientific activities, student education and social activities to the high quality and healthy life of all generations, and to a free, cohesive and secure society. The University is driven by democratic values \u2013 respect, freedom and responsibility \u2013 and internationally recognised as a multidisciplinary university that transcends disciplinary boundaries and promotes academic excellence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As one of the Czech Republic\u2019s foremost proponents of Open Science, Masaryk University is committed to advancing transparent, accessible and inclusive research practices across disciplines. It actively supports Open Access publishing, FAIR research data, and institutional policies that facilitate open scholarly communication. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our participation in OPERAS reflects this commitment. Together we share a common interest in transforming scholarly communication so that research in the social sciences and humanities is widely accessible and fairly evaluated across Europe<\/strong>. Collaboration with OPERAS enables MU to contribute to sustainable, community-driven infrastructure and policies that prioritise quality, openness and equity in scholarly publishing \u2013 reinforcing our role in shaping a fair and resilient European Research Area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAt Masaryk University, we do not see Open Science as a passing trend, but as a systemic change that enhances the quality and credibility of research. Our goal is to make Open Science an integral part of the research process and the university\u2019s service infrastructure \u2013 and to ensure that researchers have clear guidelines and practical support in their everyday work<\/em>\u201d, says Marika Hrub\u00e1, Open Science Manager at Masaryk University.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Masaryk University will contribute to the Open Access Business Models WG at the Open Access Books Special Interest Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Masarykova univerzita (MU) je p\u0159edn\u00ed \u010desk\u00e1 v\u00fdzkumn\u00e1 a vzd\u011bl\u00e1vac\u00ed instituce, jej\u00edm\u017e posl\u00e1n\u00edm je p\u0159isp\u00edvat svou v\u011bdeckou \u010dinnost\u00ed, vzd\u011bl\u00e1v\u00e1n\u00edm student\u016f a spole\u010densk\u00fdm p\u016fsoben\u00edm ke kvalitn\u00edmu a zdrav\u00e9mu \u017eivotu v\u0161ech generac\u00ed a ke svobodn\u00e9, soudr\u017en\u00e9 a bezpe\u010dn\u00e9 spole\u010dnosti. Univerzita se \u0159\u00edd\u00ed demokratick\u00fdmi hodnotami \u2013 \u00factou, svobodou a zodpov\u011bdnost\u00ed \u2013 a je mezin\u00e1rodn\u011b uzn\u00e1van\u00e1 jako multidisciplin\u00e1rn\u00ed univerzita, kter\u00e1 p\u0159ekra\u010duje hranice obor\u016f a klade d\u016fraz na akademickou excelenci.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Masarykova univerzita je l\u00eddrem v oblasti otev\u0159en\u00e9 v\u011bdy v \u010cesk\u00e9 republice. Podporuje prosazov\u00e1n\u00ed transparentn\u00edch, p\u0159\u00edstupn\u00fdch a inkluzivn\u00edch v\u00fdzkumn\u00fdch postup\u016f nap\u0159\u00ed\u010d obory. Aktivn\u011b prosazuje publikov\u00e1n\u00ed v re\u017eimu otev\u0159en\u00e9ho p\u0159\u00edstupu, FAIR v\u00fdzkumn\u00e1 data a institucion\u00e1ln\u00ed politiky, kter\u00e9 usnad\u0148uj\u00ed otev\u0159enou v\u011bdeckou komunikaci.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00da\u010dast MU v konsorciu OPERAS odr\u00e1\u017e\u00ed tyto z\u00e1vazky. Sd\u00edl\u00edme spole\u010dn\u00fd z\u00e1jem na transformaci v\u011bdeck\u00e9 komunikace tak, aby byly v\u00fdsledky v\u011bdy a v\u00fdzkumu v oblasti spole\u010densk\u00fdch a humanitn\u00edch v\u011bd \u0161iroce p\u0159\u00edstupn\u00e9 a spravedliv\u011b hodnocen\u00e9 nap\u0159\u00ed\u010d  Evropou. Spolupr\u00e1ce s OPERAS umo\u017e\u0148uje MU pod\u00edlet se na rozvoji udr\u017eiteln\u00e9, komunitou \u0159\u00edzen\u00e9 infrastruktury a syst\u00e9mu v\u011bdeck\u00e9 komunikace, kter\u00fd klade d\u016fraz na kvalitu, otev\u0159enost a spravedlnost a posiluje tak roli univerzity p\u0159i utv\u00e1\u0159en\u00ed spravedliv\u00e9ho a odoln\u00e9ho evropsk\u00e9ho v\u00fdzkumn\u00e9ho prostoru.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201eNa Masarykov\u011b univerzit\u011b nevn\u00edm\u00e1me otev\u0159enou v\u011bdu jako p\u0159echodn\u00fd trend, ale jako syst\u00e9movou zm\u011bnu, kter\u00e1 zvy\u0161uje kvalitu a d\u016fv\u011bryhodnost v\u00fdzkumu. Na\u0161\u00edm c\u00edlem je, aby otev\u0159en\u00e1 v\u011bda byla ned\u00edlnou sou\u010d\u00e1st\u00ed v\u00fdzkumn\u00e9ho procesu a servisn\u00ed infrastruktury univerzity, a aby m\u011bli v\u00fdzkumn\u00edci jasn\u00e9 pokyny a praktickou podporu ve sv\u00e9 ka\u017edodenn\u00ed pr\u00e1ci,\u201c \u0159\u00edk\u00e1 Marika Hrub\u00e1, mana\u017eerka pro otev\u0159enou v\u011bdu na Masarykov\u011b univerzit\u011b.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

OPERAS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

OPERAS is the Research Infrastructure supporting open scholarly communication in the social sciences and humanities (SSH) in the European Research Area. Its mission is to coordinate and federate resources in Europe to efficiently address the scholarly communication needs of European researchers in the field of SSH. OPERAS\u2019 aim is to make Open Science a reality for research in the SSH and achieve a scholarly communication system where knowledge produced in the SSH benefits researchers, academics, students and more generally the whole society across Europe and worldwide, without barriers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
