Openclaw

Openclaw is an MIT-licensed, open-source AI automation framework built for developers and technical teams who want to run programmable AI workflows on their own infrastructure. Instead of locking you into a single hosted assistant, Openclaw gives you the building blocks to design end-to-end automations that are transparent, auditable, and fully under your control.

At the core is a programmable workflow engine that lets you define logic in TypeScript or YAML, making it practical to version, test, and review AI behavior like any other piece of software. A stateful context manager helps workflows maintain memory and continuity across steps and conversations, while remaining explicit about what data is stored and how it is used.

Openclaw also includes a universal message router that exposes a unified interface for connecting multiple messaging platforms—such as WhatsApp, Discord, Slack, Telegram, and others—so you can build one workflow and deploy it across channels without rewriting integrations for each platform.

A major focus is Bring Your Own Model (BYOM). You can connect Openclaw to proprietary model providers like OpenAI or Anthropic, or run fully local models via Ollama for maximum privacy and offline operation. The framework is designed to be extended: its plugin architecture comes with 50+ built-in integrations and supports custom plugins to tie in internal tools, databases, CRMs, ticketing systems, and bespoke APIs. more
