Anne's figures for the 400K Giveaway

I'm in a bit of a painting fug at the moment, I seem to be making any kind of excuse not to pick the brush up, trouble is I've got so much stuff still to paint that I've just gotta keep plodding on.
Anyhow whilst in the middle of this hazzy fug I've managed to paint up Anne's 3 figures that she sent me after Monty gave away his prize in my 400K Prize Giveaway.
The figures all come from Thunderbolt Mountain miniatures and were sculpted by Tom Meier. The first two are from his FIW collection and are 1/48th scale around the 40mm mark. For the Woodland Indian you had a choice of weapons I chose the two hand to hand combat weapons instead of the musket, I thought it look more dynamic?? I also chose not to give him any warpaint, the face was sculpted so well I didn't want to slap loads of colour all over it and spoil the effect.

The second figure is of an American Frontiersman, I went with green and blue for his dress, influenced by pics of Rogers Rangers. Unfortunately he was a complete bugger to photograph, I had to alter the shade and highlight the photos quite a lot just to try and see his face. I think its the way he's leaning forward as he's running???

Lastly we have a 25mm casting of Sir Percevale from Arthurian legend, I kept him quite simple and painted him all white, apart from his helmet and shield, but was very pleased how he came out. What happened to the foot figures Anne??

These are winging their way across the Atlantic as I type and hopefully will be with Anne in a couple of days!!!!

Its official, I am now the Supreme Master of the Universe........well according to the Mad Irish women 

Anne O'Leary anyway!!

It was a close run thing and went right down to the wire, but Mankind won the day, my mouse, yes mouse was voted the best painted by the narrowest of margins, 60-57. You can see the final result here.

Now there's been a lot of smack-talk on the blogs and via email from myself and Anne and from our followers as well . 

But I'll be the man here and this is where the smack-talk ends....Well done to Anne she gave me a damn good run for my money, I did think all along that she would kick my butt, but it wasn't to be. 

She did say that she'd used the last of her family votes to vote for me and give me the win, because she didn't actually want to win.That's the kind of girlie she is.

Rousell v O'Leary The Big One!

The day has finally arrived, back at the beginning of last month, that loud mouthed Irish Women Anne O'Leary, challenged me, yes me to a painting dual!! here! 

How could I refuse her dulcet tones, firstly the chance to compete with a person who has only painted 10 figures before, gives me a great chance of a win ha ha! and secondly this is a chance for Mankind to finally prove that we, us men, are far superior to the women folk of the world!! he he!! Is this comment gonna get me in trouble.....yes! Will this lose votes for my mouse....probably!!!

Good Grief!!! What have I gotten myself into now????

I've been challenged to a Painting Competition by a Mad Irish lady. 

What the hell I hear you ask? and why is there a picture of a Mouse Wizard on your blog???

Anne from Anne's Attic, fancied a challenge and chose poor old me to be her arch nemisis.

One of her conditions was that she'd pick the figure and after a blog vote, that horrible Non-Historical figure above was chosen, would you believe over a nude figure, boobies and all, 

what are people like???

I do believe I've got as much chance as England winning the next World Cup, as Anne's followers will vote for her out of pity. 

I know my erstwhile colleague Fran will certainly not be voting for me, just to be a git.

So there you go. 

When the figures are painted, Anne will be putting up a Poll on her blog for you to vote on, 

the loser has to paint a figure for Fran of his choice, I've asked him what he wants 

and will paint it up at the same time as the mouse!!!!!!
