Revenge of SUCKLE!

Our friend (and well known fiend), The Sucklord, is now entering the final days of his Revenge of SUCKLE Kickstarter, and the Suckteam has just announced something close to home within their new stretch goals- a mini Glyos Sucklord! Like all the previously revealed SUCKLE figures, this little menace was sculpted by the modern master of mini figure manipulations, George Gaspar!

In honor of this Tiny Traveler, check out the all new SUCKLE Glyoforms set (see the post below for more info on our interactive virtual "colorforms"). If you've always dreamed of designing a wrestling ring that pits scumbag aliens against the likes of a walking toilet paper roll, you've come to the right place.

Good luck Mr. Lord!

Futuretro!

This Friday, February 10th at 7PM EST, the Four Horsemen and Toy Tokyo will open the doors at the Toy Tokyo Underground Gallery to unveil Toypocalypse 2: Futuretro, a celebration of 45 years of The Outer Space Men and a rare look inside the creative powerhouse known as Four Horsemen Studios.

From the Horsemen:

"Their second annual show at the TT Underground showroom in New York City will feature many all-new, never before seen items and even some fan favorites and toy industry classics from the Four Horsemen's past, present and future! Get an up close and personal look at action figure work that's seldom (if ever) been seen outside the Four Horsemen's own studio.

Toypocalypse 2: Futuretro will begin with a special opening night for friends and fans at TT Underground Friday night - February 10th 2012, and will run through most of the following week.

And if you're a fan of the Four Horsemen's licensed action figure line, The Outer Space Men, then you're NOT going to want to miss this show! There's going to be a specially featured Outer Space Men display that will most likely never be seen in this form again, as well as some special events surrounding the 45th anniversary of The Outer Space Men!

Last, don't forget about the AMAZING set of super limited Outer Space Men figures redesigned by Mel Birnkrant himself specifically for Futuretro! This extra special set of figures will be signed by Mel AND The Four Horsemen, and will also come with an exclusive Outer Space Men print by fan favorite illustrator and frequent Four Horsemen collaborator, Nathan Baertsch! All of that for only $125.00! What a steal! If you want a sneak peek into Mel's brain as he created this new variation on his old classics, check out the "Custom Colors" section of his "Sketchbook" website HERE.
The show's absolutely free, so come on by, chill out with us and some amazing toy industry dignitaries for a couple hours, have a free brewsky on us, and say 'hey' at Futuretro!"

Click over to the Horsemen Blog to catch up on all the details that surround this crazy show!

One particularly special part of the festivities is that the creator of the original OSM, Mel Birnkrant, will be in attendance on Friday night -this aspect alone is worth the trip! Between the Horsemen and Mel, you will be in the company of the best in the toy business, all in one spot.

There is also an open call OSM custom show on top of everything else (and fresh off his domination of cable TV, an appearance by the notorious Sucklord himself).

Marc, Jesse and I (the booby prizes) will also be coming down for the show on Friday night and possibly unveiling a thing or two in the gallery. We hope to see some of you guys and maybe go for an East Village Food Crawl later that evening. Crif Dogs is calling us!

All in all, a great time on the horizon!

NYCC Image Dump 2

For the record, that's a kielbasa. Ruined.

NYCC 2011

We are set up at NYCC Booth #578! The scenario is a little different this year as we have merged our booth with Sidekick Media (booth #576- thanks Tom) for some extra space for all our friends who will be at the table throughout the show.

A small batch of preview figures from next week's launch will be available from us, but the truly cool stuff will come from the visiting artists who will be offering all kinds of new work that is collectively glorious to behold! The Godbeast, The Sucklord, Uamou, NistuffHealey Made, Peter Kato, Lamour Supreme, Bah'glenn Creations, Steve Jackson Games, Spaced Out Design, Eat Your Children, and Kranix are just a few of the artists that will be rolling out fresh toys to check out.

We are really psyched to once again get the chance to talk to some of you in person! Hope to see you guys over the next few days!

NYCC 2010 Wrap Up

Thanks to everyone out there who came by the booth at NYCC, it was a great show with a crazy amount of talent flying around the table!

These events always have an element of nervousness laced with the anticipation, so having such cool people swing by throughout the days really kept the vibe very positive. I personally can't believe how lucky we are to have such solid characters choose to be part of this whole strange project.

Special thanks go out to Nistuff and Kranix for holding down the booth with total consistency, it was great to see you guys doing your thing. These two were planted behind a wild array of product for three days! The Godbeast and Paul Kaiju continued their creative assault on the general public with impressive showings that had many con dwellers standing at the table for extended amounts of time. Mr. Dead Presidents himself dropped in on Saturday, and outside of melting brains with his paint applications, threw mini pretzels at just about anyone with XX chromosomes. The Bah'glenn debuted his Alien Mercenaries photo comic as well (which had the coolest back cover imagery)! The Evil Earwig also jumped into the mayhem with some original hand cast heads that had the table buzzing.

We ended Sunday with an appearance by the illustrious Vectar, who was on loan from the Sucklord to peddle his wares (and choke the nearby booths with spray paint). Of course we can't forget the good Doctorkent, who maintained tight security and general muscle when things got intense, not to mention doing some hellish Axis Joint assembly in the hotel room deep into the night (thanks to our friend Mike as well). Thanks to Ralph, we also met killer artists Alexis Ziritt and Alejandro Bruzzese. Make sure to check these guys out.

A shout out goes to The Cardhacks as well, these guys are working on some of the most unique projects around and back it up with quality moves. Also, big thanks to Rob Losito for keeping a pulse on the scene at the con as well as introducing us to many excellent artists, not to mention supporting what we have been doing for quite sometime.

Outside of the con itself, we had some great times in the East Village hanging out with our friends. Jesse and I wanted to send a special thanks out to Missy and Nate (of Average Intelligence fame) for guiding us through the city at night. You two were troopers and put up with every ounce of me and Jesse's fused neurosis! Long live Nino's Pizza! NYCC was a awesome time and we are looking forward to doing it again next year.

On one extra note, we will be putting some stuff up for sale at 2pm EST tomorrow, October 15th, for those that missed out on grabbing the new Axis Joint packs at the show. We are also going to try something new, and see what you guys think.

Along with the Joints there will also be two "Extra Sets", which consist of two heads, one chest and one pelvis in each set. The first set has 1 Sarvos and 1 Phanost head, a split new chest and a no belt pelvis in the Gear's edge color scheme (companion to the Gearius figure).

The second set has 1 Pheyden and 1 Scar Pheyden head, a Pheyden chest and a belted pelvis in pure white with painted eyes (companion to Enforcer Sarvos).

Based on the recent requests for more parts we thought we would try this out. Each Extra Set will be $4 USD and the Axis Joints will be $4 USD as well (and come with a special sneak production Govurom head).

Let us know what you guys think and as always thanks for checking this stuff out.

Oh yeah, one last bit. The crazy Pheyden with the cloak in the above pics was a booth mash up by the whole NYCC crew. See if you can guess who did what...

NYCC 2010

It has been a bit of a whirlwind since we returned home from our recent trip overseas. Jesse ad I both had an awesome time and covered a lot of ground (literally) in both China and Japan. A proper wrap up of the journey will pop up next week, but for now we turn our attentions towards NYCC 2010.

This year we have a new location and will be set up at booth 2780 in the Cultyard section of the floor. Special thanks go out to Boris of Banimon fame for taking care of us on the NYCC circuit for the last few years. Make sure to stop in at booth #652 and see what he's up to and pick up his all new Banimon issue 3!

The new area we are in is a grouping of companies that are hovering around a similar sun. Seeing the usual suspects will be great! We hope that those who are going get a chance to come over to our low tech table and catch up in person. Just look for the group of bearded fools shuffling some plastic around.

As far as what we'll have for the show, there will be a couple of kind of neat things from our side, the main one being a preview set of the new joints. These sets are extra unique because they contain a part that has now been modified for the upcoming full production run. The part is the small disc, which has had its diameter increased for more building options. So this show will be the only place to get the "proto disc" in its original form. Also, something else is inside each joint pack, but that will remain a surprise until things get rolling on the floor. We will also have a very small quantity of Black Rigs available as well.

Jesse will have something really cool for you guys in the form of a brand new Callgrim color, but with a twist that neither of us have ever tried before. Those of you who are fans of Tron should particularly dig the new Callgrim...

The thing we are personally the most excited for are the special guests appearing at the booth throughout the show. You will be able to meet Paul Kaiju, The Godbeast, the always unpredictable Sucklord, NiStuff, Ralph Niese, the ghost of the Tarantulas (well at least a few of his Nibblers) and some super talented members of the October Toys Forum who will have examples of their custom work on display at different times during the event. It should be a great mash up of different talents.

We are rolling out of here in a few minutes to make our way down to NYC, so in the meantime check out some possibilities the new joints allow. See some of you guys soon!

Crossed Over and Wrapped Up

SDCC was really fun this year. The Crossover theme brought many creative minds together and some wild work popped out as a result. Getting a chance to meet some of you highlighted the craziness that is the Con. It was great to talk in person and share some time discussing all kinds of topics, especially with the super creative people who keep us going through their dedicated support. I hope my grizzly looks didn't scare you guys too much!

The biggest draw of the Con, for us anyway, is the opportunity to spend time with our friends and customers (who usually also become our friends). Between the crews from Japan, the UK, Canada and all over the USA we had a regular United Nations of toy nuts. I personally feel luckier than ever to be allowed to break bread with such awesome people -on both sides of the table.

Thanks to everyone who made SDCC 2010 such a memorable experience, and Jesse didn't even get arrested!

SDCC 09 Booth #4937

Onell Design is at the Con! I (Marc) will not be attending, as my band finishes up our tour, but stop by booth 4937 to check in with Matt, Jesse, and the rest of the crew. Our booth is officially the Global Figure Symposium, and we'll be joined by likes of RawShark, Real x Head, Suckadelic, LAMOUR Supreme, Dead Presidents, Fig-lab and much more! There are a ton of great things happening throughout the show- check the release & links below for the full scoop.

PRESS: The GLOBAL FIGURE SYMPOSIUM will be a 5-day session with a variety of panels and presentations. GSF2009 is graciously hosted by Onell Design and Callgrim at the San Diego Convention Center (SDCC#4937) . Don 'Datadub' Kratzer - Director of the International Figure Research Laboratory - will be giving the keynote and holding daily morning sessions on recent trends in figure culture from the far east. Afternoon sessions will feature many illustrious guest speakers and special exhibit. The final day will be an open day workshop to recap everything that was covered during the Symposium.

Visit gfs2009.com for the complete schedule!

I am truly bummed to not be in San Diego- but I guess it does give me more time to work on the Passcode continuation...

He's No Good To Me Dead - Episode II

Back at NYCC one of our long time customers (and friend), EatYourChildren, came bearing a incredibly cool gift...a casting of Pheyden encased in Carbonite! Perfect for a companion piece to the Sucklord crossover we released at that very show with the Suckmaster himself! EatYourChildren put some serious thought, energy and effort into this unique and well crafted piece. After getting it home and staring at it on my desk I was inspired to create its natural match. Now accompanying the "Pheydenite" comes the "Sucklorian". Paying homage to a few of our favorite things (Sucklord and some bounty guy), the Sucklorian might be a close Cousin to the inimitable Sucklord himself. Thank you so much EYC for an amazing gift that lives and plays amongst my favorite collection of things. For more info on the work of EatYourChildren, head over to www.eatyourchildren.net and have a look around and see Episode I. I'm looking forward to seeing what he does next!
