Morning Maneuvers

Recently I was lucky enough to take a "break of dawn" kayak excursion with none other than the legendary Pappysoup, over at Bare Hill Pond in Harvard, MA.

Of course I brought along a few companions for the trip, as evidenced by the lily pad crouching going on in the above pictures (iPod shots). What an incredible place, with a glass like surface on the water that looked unreal. Pappy was a fishing machine and we explored just about every corner of the pond (I saw a turtle as well).

All of these outdoor shots have been part of a process that is leading up to our end of July release, as nature plays an important part of certain aspects related to what we have been cooking. We want to make this drop something extra special, in honor of our 5th anniversary of making full production toys (which is this month).

Thanks for bearing with all of these nature shots, I personally hope some of you have been enjoying at least a few of them. They were really fun to shoot!

Michelle, Marc, Megan, Jesse and I would  like to wish everybody an awesome SDCC this week! We already miss seeing all of our old friends, but have been having a great time being with our families after so many years of heading out west for the big show.  On a related note, NYCC is shaping up to be pretty packed with a solid roster of awesome artists, so maybe keep some time open in October and be prepared to eat after the show!

Sneaks of the July release are on deck and will be popping up very soon!

Thank You San Diego!

SDCC was a lot of fun and we had a great time connecting with everybody who came by the booth. Kind of bittersweet knowing that this will be the last time (for the foreseeable future) we attend as exhibitors, but it's been awesome going for all these years, and this recent trip was a truly excellent way to wrap things up.

Gigantic thanks to all our friends on both sides of booth #4937, each one of you made the show unforgettable.

Let's do it again in New York!

Non-Con Drop Details

Task Force Volkriun: Ready to Deploy

We have been rustling around here for the past few weeks getting ready for the trip out to SDCC. Following in the tradition of the past two years, we will be releasing a special "Non-Con" assortment online for those of you unable to make the show.
This year, Task Force Volkriun will be the selection, and within this round some new things will debut! The major addition is an all new head for the Glyan- the Neo Sincroid (all Glyans will now be packed with two heads)!
Since the Gendrone Revolution could not be suppressed through standard operations, Glyaxia Command made the risky decision to create an all new type of soldier, the Neo Sincroid, to aid in the conflict. Assigned at only one per battalion, each Neo Sincroid stands ready to defend the Glyan population at any cost...
More details coming this week!
The Task Force Volkriun color selection is dedicated to the great PappySoup. Thanks Pappy!

The Black Lights

In between packing out the orders from the Solaris drop (orders begin shipping today), I took a few moments to play around with the new Outer Space Men from SDCC. They have a different build factor, but once you get swapping some cool things start to happen.

As an added bonus, I was testing out some black lights for another project and I discovered that the OSM are SUPER reactive to that dark glow! These photos are not doctored at all, just straight shots with the levels slightly adjusted. You guys need to get these things under some black lights and see for yourselves!

Crossed Over and Wrapped Up

SDCC was really fun this year. The Crossover theme brought many creative minds together and some wild work popped out as a result. Getting a chance to meet some of you highlighted the craziness that is the Con. It was great to talk in person and share some time discussing all kinds of topics, especially with the super creative people who keep us going through their dedicated support. I hope my grizzly looks didn't scare you guys too much!

The biggest draw of the Con, for us anyway, is the opportunity to spend time with our friends and customers (who usually also become our friends). Between the crews from Japan, the UK, Canada and all over the USA we had a regular United Nations of toy nuts. I personally feel luckier than ever to be allowed to break bread with such awesome people -on both sides of the table.

Thanks to everyone who made SDCC 2010 such a memorable experience, and Jesse didn't even get arrested!

Rig Crew

Quick update from the Con... We want to thank everyone for the great response to the Solaris Wave. The booth has been non-stop with The Crossover insanity, and an absolute blast. Thanks again to the entire Glyos community for the continued support, both online and in the flesh. More updates on the way!

SDCC Non-Con Solaris Wave

Coming to you straight from booth #4937, the SDCC Non-Con 2010 Solaris Wave is here! If you're attending the convention please stop by, say hi, and check out the crossover madness of the Global Figure Symposium! For all of you at home, this new launch features 2 Non-Con exclusives: the Solaris Echo Morph set and the Solaris Buildman Gendrone! Check out the full line up here: http://www.onelldesign.com/sdcc2010

We're also excited to launch a new hub for the Glyos Archives! You can now check out more of our past releases, including the very first Custom Corps as well as the latest batch of Dead Presidents' Armodocs! The archives are forever a work in progress, but we hope you guys enjoy what has been added so far.

More sneak peeks to come throughout the show!

Task Force Solaris

We are getting the final packing done for the trip and have also finalized the Non Con specials. To keep things somewhat exciting, a whole mini wave of GITD red figures will pop up in a special store during SDCC. The target day is Thursday, but we have to make sure the Internet connection is relatively solid once we get to the hotel before we lock it down.

The Solaris Armodoc and Gobon will be offered in very limited quantities at the con as well as online, but the Solaris Echo Morph and Gendrone will be Non Con exclusives, only available through the site. We'll also be posting some sneaks from the new wave throughout the show. We're really looking forward to seeing everybody at Booth #4937!

The Rig

The first production Rigs have landed... along with some extremely hostile Armodocs! The feel and functionality of this new addition to the ranks are solid and tight. A standard Glyos figure fits right inside once you take it apart at the waist. My favorite Hades is actually inside the Rig in the above pics. It's simple, but pretty fun to play with. How you look at it determines what form it takes, the transformations are all about perspective and what you feel like tinkering with. It can be a walking mech, an armored spaceship, a battlesuit or even a ground tank. Messing around with it reminds me of when I'd spend time with a Rubik's Cube, the shifting of shapes all contained within a simple structure and suddenly (or after many mind crushing hours) a collection of colors would come together. It's also fun to combine with the Armodocs, especially the new ones that are right around the corner (GITD Red and another highly requested color). We'll have a small batch to check out at SDCC, with the full release available in the late August big drop.

Presidential Duties

We are once again preparing for the trip out to SDCC, and like last year, we want to offer some special things to all you guys who may not be attending. It can be frustrating deciding on what cons to go to, as the price of just about everything climbs higher each year. With this in mind, we want to send a huge thank you out to everybody who keeps us alive all year long.
So over the coming weeks some unique stuff will be available strictly through the site and blog -and not at SDCC.

First up is a very limited edition of Armodocs painted up by the master, Matt Walker AKA Dead Presidents Designs. This will be the first round of painted Armodocs available through the Custom Corps project and Matt did a awesome job pushing the applications on them. Think of it as a pre SDCC CC! As usual, the photos don't do the figures justice, but you get a taste of what he's done. The Armodocs will be blind bagged and run $60 USD. The gates open on Sunday (July 11th) at 6PM EST. More pics tomorrow.

Following the custom Armodocs will be another NON-CON exclusive, available the week of SDCC. More details on this soon!

Then in August we will be dropping the next big assortment of stuff, including an all new Passcode and a particular Pheyden that I've wanted to do since we started this! Some other big secret surprises are also in store (don't want to jinx them). There are a few curve balls that are waiting to be thrown as well.

We hope to catch up with some of you at SDCC. Booth #4937 is where we'll be, with a truly international group of amazing artists and friends.
