Valor Check

The worst-case scenario is fabricating a PCB only to discover a part with the wrong number in the bill of materials. This leads to an incorrect package that the EMS vendor cannot place. Valor, a tool by Siemens verifies all footprints in the design against manufacturer specifications for millions of electronic components. Most design shops leave this check up to their contract manufacturer (if they do this at all) to do at the time of prototyping.
