“My August Repawt” by Oliver

Hi evfurrybody it’s Oliver here! We have missed yoo! I am sending yoo my August repawt from the top of the bookcase in Mark’s study.

As yoo can see I am all grown up now – did yoo know that Ruby and I will be two years old soon? I am a little on the husky side so I am on a bit of a diet at the moment.

I think Scott has a smudge on this lens.

What would my repawt be wifowt a pitcher of my paw? Tee hee! If yoo look closely yoo can see I have a yooneek identifying mark on my left paw – it’s a tiny patch of white fur that I have had since I was a kitten!

We are all very well here. I still enjoy sleeping, and playing wif my sisfurs, and lounging abowt and lying upside down.

Here is Ruby on the window sill, looking at berds owtside and keeping an eye on the neighbourhood.

Be careful yoo don’t fall owt the window Ruby! It’s OK, she knows what she is doing. Ruby is long and sleek and lean and she is a very byootiful and smart lady. She does the thinking for all of us! Tee hee!

Here is Miss Rose come to say hello. Rosie is almost fully grown now too. She has probably already told you abowt her successes at the cat shows. She now has two Premier Certificates. Next week she is going wif Scott to the Chester show. All she needs in one more Premier certificate to gain a Premier Champion title! We are crossing our paws for her.

You can see that Rosie’s “mask” is nicely developed now – that’s the dark area arownd her face. The rest of her “points” (the dark areas on her paws and tail) are also very nice. In November she is going to GCCF Supreme Show all the way over in Birmingham – it is the big annual national show for cats – just like the Crufts Show is for dogs.

Here she is practising some of her poses!

We hope that everybody in the Cat Blogosphere is happy and well – we send you our love and our purrs!

My Day at the Show. By Miss Rose

Well hello there! This is Rose!

You know, before I begin I need to say that we are very upset that Scott is only letting us get to the computer for special occasions lately. I mean, aren’t we cute any more now that we’re all more than a year old??

Anyway, here is a shot taken of me today at the Merseyside Cat Club All Breed Championship Show. Yes – I did win a few little prizes: let me list them for you. To begin with I came first in my Open Class – that’s the most important one! The judge liked me so much that she awarded me a Premier Certificate. That’s my second Premier Certificate this year (it’s the silver one in the middle). One more PC from a different judge and I will gain the title of Premier cat! I know!

I also come first in two of my side classes and second in another (I know – I was robbed!). If you look carefully at the picture you will see that I won my first cash prize! That was a special Queen’s Diamond Jubilee category that I entered (here in the UK we are celebrating the Queen’s sixtieth year on the throne this weekend). I spent the money there and then on a set of three toy mice (they are wearing tuxedos because they are the Rat Pack), a blue toy ball with feathers, and a collapsible cat play box!

I have to tell you though, that my Nemesis was there today and Scott was very worried. My Nemesis is a big blue colourpoint British Shorthair – he is four years old and he is huge, masculine and magnificent, whereas I am young, feminine and pretty. He won Best of Breed over me once again! Hmph! I won the Premier Certificate though so that’s actually better. I confess though that it would be nice to beat him at least once in my pageant career! I’ll keep you updated!

Love and kisses to all our bloggy friends! A special hello to my boyfriend Genji!

Rose’s Speshull Day

Hi evfurrybody it’s Oliver! I am rolling arownd wif my legs in the air cos it’s a speshull day today. Today our sisfur Rose turns one year old!

To celebrate here are some pitchers of Rose as a tiny baby kitten!

There she is in the middle.

Look – her eyes have only just opened!

She was a sweet little ball of white fluff, wasn’t she?

Awww!

That’s Rose at the front.

Look at her loverly blue eyes!

Rose at the front again.

And at the front.

And there she is at the front.

This is the picture that made Scott and Mark fall in love with Rose and want her to come and live wif us! We are so glad she came cos she is a lot of fun, she enjoys playing wif screwed up Post Its, and she loves to do the ambush on the stairs trick, and she also likes to snuggle.

Thanks to our Auntie Jane for all the kitten pics!

Here is Rose today – all grown up now!

And here is her 8×10 glossy black and white glamour shot for castings and modelling work.

I’ll just continue to celebrate in my own speshull way!

Happy Birthday Rosie!

Love from

Mid-April Already?

Hi everyone it’s Ruby! We can’t believe it’s mid-April already – spring is well and truly in the air. That means it’s warming up, the windows are open for window-whiffles and the odd fly that we can chase around the house, and we’re starting to shed our fur.

Here is Rose doing her fur seal impression. Scott says Rose’s fur is the most conspicuous in the house because it shows up on everything – particularly this red rug. Every week when he vacuums he fills the entire vacuum cleaner with our fur!

Oliver (pictured above) is obsessed with the little finches that leap about on the silver birches outside the window.

Anyway, time for some mad running about the house!

Notes from Prison

Hi everyone this is Ruby reporting from the borstal. I know that the humans call it a Luxury Cattery but I’ve got to tell you, it’s really prison for cats. I was just in the middle of charting maps of the night sky from our usual position at home when we were all sent off to camp. This throws all of my plans out!

At least Rose gave Scott a good deep scratch on his hand when he tried to get her into the travelling cage. Ha! Something to remember us by!

Once again it’s Oliver who is the traitor to the cause – he’s far too interested in what’s going on outside the window to worry about escape plans.

Rose has the right idea. She’s hiding under the bed and giving everyone laser eyes.

More to follow.

Meanwhile Scott and Mark are having a great time on the French Riviera.

Hmpf.

Ruby says Hmmm

Hi everyone it’s Ruby.

Three things displease me. First, we haven’t posted for a while. Second, I haven’t seen my boyfriend Teddy because he has been on holiday. Third, did you realise that the last 3 posts have been from my sister?

Plus Rose is bigger than me now. That’s four things then.

On the plus side my fur is looking particularly velvety.

Miss Rose Reports

Well hello there! This is Rose.

You know, I should have realised that Scott was getting me ready for something on Friday, because yesterday we drove to the Lancashire Cat Club’s 64th All Breed Championship Show.

It was a pretty big cat show as you can see and there were hundreds of entries. My job was sit in my pen and look as beautiful as I could. So “how did you do?”, I hear you ask.

Well! In cat shows let me explain that red rosettes mean first place. That’s right! I gained a first in my Open Class, and two firsts and a second in my miscellaneous classes. Hooray!

“That accounts for four rosettes Rose” I hear you say. Well! I got another rosette too, which was awarded with a certificate:

This is my first Premier Certificate and it’s a great honour! If I get two more of these in future shows from different judges I will be awarded the title of Premier. That’s like a supermodel cat! I know! And this is what the judge wrote on the back:

If I became a Premier cat I wouldn’t let my success go to my head though. I’d be sure to remember all the little people like Oliver and Ruby who believed in me from the very beginning.

(My autographed 8×10 glossy will now cost £5, that’s US$8)

Miss Rose Reports

Well hello there! This is Miss Rose.

You know, Scott has been grooming me all day. Every time I turn around he is there with a comb or brush. I know I look beautiful already so why is he paying me all this grooming attention?

This is my famous meerkat impersonation. I can do it for ages. You know, the other day I almost stood fully erect with hind legs extended! I know, all I need now is a pair of Louboutin heels!

Miss Rose’s Chronicles

Well hello there! This is Miss Rose.

You know, I am a teensy bit miffed that my brother and sister got to name this blog before I arrived. Originally this blog was called The Oliver and Ruby Chronicles. When I came along the title was changed to The Oliver and Ruby Chronicles featuring Miss Rose. That’s right – I got third billing!

I am campaigning to have this blog renamed to ensure that I receive the credit I am due. After all, we all know why you visit – and it isn’t to see two dull, drab, grey and yes, I am going to say it –  aging cats. So here are my ideas for the blog. First of all may I suggest:

Or I quite like this one:

How about:

OK, OK, I’ll give them some credit:

Personally I quite like:

But really you can’t dispute this is the best one:

I’ll let you know what I decide!
