The result was a policy that preserves the rights of all parties while furthering the mission of open science. The policy was submitted to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.openedition.org\/19221?lang=en\">steering committee<\/a>, which approved it at its annual meeting in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new licensing policy has several objectives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Clarify the status of documents and metadata published.<\/li><li>Inform the community of the terms and conditions of content use.<\/li><li>Allow content to be reused.<\/li><li>Allow journals and editors to publish content under the terms of the <a href=\"https:\/\/leo.hypotheses.org\/15400\">Plan S program<\/a> and payment agreements.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Version 4.0 of the license was selected for use, as it is the newest and also the most relevant given OpenEdition\u2019s international scope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Licensing recommendations and options on OpenEdition platforms. class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rollout<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The new licensing policy will be rolled out separately on each OpenEdition platform in the months to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>By November 2022.<\/strong> Metadata on all four platforms as well as all Calenda documents will be published under a CC0 license.<\/li><li><strong>By March 2023 at the latest.<\/strong> The policy will be applied to all new content published on OpenEdition Books and OpenEdition Journals.<\/li><li><strong>By June 2023.<\/strong> The policy will be applied to all
