It was was co-sponsored by the Department of Anesthesia at Stanford University and received grant support from the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health and the National Cancer Institute. The well-designed workshops and sym- posia panels and their renowned speakers were perfectly integrated with the Conference theme: “Advancing the Precision Medicine Initiative through Acupuncture Research.”

points have distinct electrical properties when compared to surrounding tissue. The bioelectrical impedance of acupoints seems to vary between healthy and diseased states. Electroacupuncture according to Voll is a methodology that uses a calibrated ohmmeter to measure bioelectric impedance on certain acupuncture points located on the hands and feet in response to changes in the physiological functions of organs and structures of the body. This process also evaluates bioelectric impedance of acupuncture points when substances, such as medicines, herbs, supplements, and homeopathics are placed in the same electrical circuit with the patient.

Eliot Guild, 2) the theory of investment value of John B. Williams, 3) the John M. Keynes castle-in-the-air theory, and 4) the theory of games and economic behavior of John Von Neumann and Oskar Morgenstern. It discusses the use of fundamental and technical analysis by each theory, as well as the asset valuations models derived from the four of them. This article thus synthesizes, compares, and contrasts the four theories and proposes a holistic approach for future financial research.

Descriptive and normative methodologies such as attribution theory, schema theory, prospect theory, ambiguity model, game theory, and expected utility theory are discussed. The definition of culture is reviewed, and the relation- ship between culture and decision making is also highlighted as many organizations use a cultural-ethical decision-making model.

However, the issue has received little consideration from manage- ment scholars. Although there are several definitions of spirituality, this paper discusses it as a cultural phenomenon that might influ-
ence organizational behavior. The investigation of spirituality in the workplace demands the examination of organization theory and some of its concepts. Open systems, institu- tional isomorphism, open fields, in- stitutionalism, and neo-institutional theories are examined. Spirituality should not be neglected as a legiti- mate organizational topic of study, and more research on the impact of spirituality in the workplace should be conducted.

The treatment of mitral regurgi- tation varies according to its severity; however, surgical corrections, repair or replacement, are the gold standard. The current pharmaco¬therapeutic regimen is comprised of β-adrenoreceptor blockers, angiotensin receptor-blockers, diuretics, inotropic agents, and other agents.
This case concerns a patient with severe, chronic mitral valve regurgitation and chest pain. She chose to pursue an alternative treatment for this condition, a technique developed
by Reinhold Voll using electroacupuncture. This technique, known as “Electroacupuncture according to Voll,” plus the use of nosode therapy, helped alleviate the patient’s chest pain, improved her quality of life, and increased her confidence level such that she was able to travel to receive the necessary biomedical intervention needed to resolve the underlying issue.
Electroacupuncture according to Voll, an effective methodology for detecting disease, treating symptoms, and expediting treatment delivery, was used to treat this patient by synthesizing the application of Oriental medicine and homeopathy. These methodologies may also be used to facilitate treatment in patients with other related complex conditions. More research is warranted on this topic.
