SPACE ROCKS

The Geminid meteor shower will peak this Sunday night (estimated 140+/hour, and the sky will be dark with a new moon). It's going to be really awesome but it's also supposed to be cloudy here so I'm thinking about going out tonight and seeing what there is to see through the city lights.

If it's too cold, I might just listen to the meteors on the spaceweather live radar radio:

THIS IS SO COOL OMG SPACE

ETA: I observed tonight from 12:30 to 1:00. Between clouds, buildings, and trees I didn't have a big piece of sky to look at, but I saw three! The second was very bright, brighter than any of the stars I could see.

It was indeed pretty chilly, especially lying on the ground.
