Update: I have updated my review from 1 to 2 stars, based solely on the developers being responsive to this issue, which is promising. While it is not yet resolved, they are working on it in a professional manner, and reasonable back and forth communication to troubleshoot. I’ll update again if it becomes resolved and works as described. Original Post: First, documentation on this plugin is greatly lacking. After being a Pro subscriber with priority support and attempting to implement this, it simply does not work. We use MailGun as our client SMTP service, setup the client domain, can test from within mailgun fine. Install the PostSMTP plugin on parent, child, and this plugin ext for MainWP. The extension sees the child domain that has PostSMTP installed, but after entering email, name, and reply to address nothing was being configured on the child and it continued to return that it needed to be configured and was using WP default mail. PostSMTP support sent me a beta fix, and the only change is that the child now says that it’s configured properly, but any test are not even actually attempted. The mail test goes through at 0ms, but there is no record in PostSMTP or mailgun that a mail was actually attempted, let alone successfully sent, and of course I never received it. This plugin is about improved mail delivery and logging, yet it’s 1st not working and 2nd falsely reporting successful mail, and that’s a big red flag. The one other review here, I can’t imagine is legitimate, as post smtp for Main WP has nothing to do with switching to a secondary SMTP. This is supposed to let you easily setup client domains to the SMTP service you’ve configured; there are NO options regarding secondary SMTP configurations from within the MainWP Post SMTP extention; that would have to be configured in the plugin settings of the child site, unrelated to MainWP. That should be a feature, the ONLY feature is adding outbound email address, email name, and reply-to address per domain from within MainWP.I want to add here, because I talked to the dev about a year ago before trying to actually roll this out for client sites, this plugin/MainWP extension is missing the boat completely. As far as MainWP, it has zero reporting features, so it does not show email stats when looking at a client domain overview, does not report any issues in MainWP, does not have a way to add it to client pro reports. PostSMTP surprised me and said they would implement all that in the next release, so I was thinking great a dev team that really supports their product, but they never introduced any of this in future releases. Now that I’ve purchased this, see it doesn’t work even for the limited functionality it’s supposed to, and having a poor support experience, I can’t recommend this to anyone.

SMTP Extension automatically switches to a secondary SMTP service provider to ensure your emails always reach your recipients. Even though it is the most powerful plug-in that can switch to a secondary SMTP, it is strange that the number of downloads is still low! Perhaps it’s great that you can send many emails while automatically switching within the limits of multiple free accounts!
