Understanding about the causes, consequences, and also solutions is one of the main keys of knowing how far the students care about climate change issues. This research aimed to identify the middle school students' knowledge of climate change in Boyolali district, Indonesia. The sampling technique was stratified random sampling by classifying the district. The district is classified into the urban fringe zone, urban-rural fringe zone, and rural-urban fringe zone. The sample of school was taken from each zone and the number of students is selected purposively. The data were collecting using questionnaire with parameters including the knowledge of the climate system, causes, consequences and solutions of global warming, contextual knowledge about human-caused, and practical knowledge about global warming. The result showed that students who attend school in the urban area have a higher understanding of global warming than who attend school in the rural area. 96% of students believe that global warming is happening and 35% of students understand that global warming is caused mostly by human activities.

The aim of research to determine level of healthy life behavior knowledge and utilization of public health centers in District Prambanan, Klaten regency. This research uses descriptive quantitative method; data derived from the questionnaire results interviews of respondents in District Prambanan. The study population is the entire parcel of building settlement based on interpretation of Google Maps 2016 imagery and field survey. Population amounted to 20,943 buildings and total of 2,235 were samples of the study. The results showed the public understand benefits of drinking water is total 88.2% of the percentage categories 'very understand' and 'understand', food hygiene 85.6%, the location of garbage disposal is 84.7%, followed by knowledge of environmental cleaning benefits of 84.2%, and good meal times 82.3%. Knowledge of the bathtub drain benefit of 76.9%, benefit of hand washing is 75.9%, and regular exercise by 53.3%. Understanding of using clean water is good and septic tank availability reaches 96.5%, as well as a healthy latrine conditions with 79.5% to the embodiment of the knowledge society of healthy behavior. Utilization of public health center in District Prambanan is 83.3%, the community has utilized the facilities of public health center especially for medical treatment as much as 69.1%. The community of District Prambanan is 63.6% receiving health education and 81.6% of people have health insurance .

School community is one of the most vulnerable community against disaster. Increasing the capacity of school community is needed, one of them through Program of Sekolah Siaga Bencana. Objectives of Sekolah Siaga Bencana to build a safe and alert culture along build resilience in the face of disaster by the school community. The purpose of this research to determine the preparedness of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Klaten in the face of disaster, especially eruption of Mount Merapi. Subjects of this research are 119 respondents which are students of class X, teachers and the representation of school. The research method is quantitative descriptive and using disaster preparedness school monitoring quizery. The results show the level of community preparedness of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Klaten with index value of 64,75 and included in the category "READY".

The Government of Klaten Regency published a book with titled Panduan Pembelajaran Kebencanaan di Kabupaten Klaten in regent regulation No. 6 in 2014 as disaster mitigation effort. Subsequently, BPBD of Klaten Regency accompanied the establishment of Sekolah Siaga Bencana (SSB) as an effort to build school preparedness to deal with disaster. The purpose of this research is to know the effectiveness of using of Panduan Pembelajaran Kebencanaan di Kabupaten Klaten toward the students' knowledge about disaster using various learning strategies. Research data using data from 2016 until 2017, and quantitative descriptive analysis as method. The sample is 1.349 respondents from 8 high schools in Klaten Regency. The result shows that control class with conventional method with average value of pretest is 43,28 and posttest value is 63,10. This result is lower than the experimental class using various learning strategies have average score of pretest is 46,11 and the posttest score is 69,77. In general, the preview results in the control class and experimental class include in "MEDIUM" category of level knowledge index. The increase occurred in posttest value of control class but not significant while experimental class increased and include in "HIGH" category of level knowledge index.

Disaster Risk Reduction in Indonesia is an effort that must be done systematically, measurable to... more Disaster Risk Reduction in Indonesia is an effort that must be done systematically, measurable to achieve national resilience to hydro-meteorological disaster that increases along with climate change. This article examines the forms of risk reduction referring to the global agenda that is Sustainable Development Goals and Sendai Framework Disaster Risk Reduction. This article is more specialized investment framework for disaster risk reduction by the government in reducing the impact of climate change and systematically reducing risk through education. Risk reduction conditions in urban and rural areas show a gap in knowledge context that is superior to urban. However, substantial risk due to climate change occur in rural areas concerned to food security. This lack of knowledge is due to the community, including students, who live in cities have a diverse selection of information and better presentation. Accessibility to this information related to IT infrastructure and socioeconomic activities in urban areas of more intensive than in rural areas. Disaster education investments can be systematized through materials and media that support climate change learning according to the spatial context.

The development of Surakarta indicated by an increase of 3.66% from 2007 to 2011, this resulted in the threat of disruption micro-climate in the region. One of the threats of climate change on a regional micro is the Urban Heat Island phenomenon. Based on the analysis of Landsat 7 in 2003 and 2011 the threat of Urban Heat Island can be determined by analyzing the NDVI and LST where the analysis shows that the average density of the vegetation index Surakarta in 2003 is -0.4 - 0.1 (vegetation density is sparse - medium) and 0.4-0.1 (vegetation density is sparse - being) in 2011, the overall area of Surakarta area of sparse vegetation density increases evenly on every district. According analysis of LST on Landsat 7 in 2003 showed that the mean average land surface temperature Surakarta 33,1˚ C - 35˚ C and increase to 36˚ C - 37˚ C in 2011, while the average land surface temperature around Karanganyar, Sukoharjo, Klaten and Boyolali was 29.1-31 37˚ C. participatory effort by learners in the Urban Heat Island mitigation can be participatory field measurements, instrument making socialization, forming study groups and implementation of disaster curriculum.

Sebanyak 20.476 kejadian bencana dalam kurun waktu 200 tahun terakhir. Sejak Tahun 1815-2015 di Indonesia telah terjadi 6.200 kejadian bencana banjir dan menyebabkan korban 18.927 nyawa meninggal dan serta hanya 10 kejadian bencana gempa bumi dan tsunami yang menyebabkan korban sebanyak 167.779 jiwa (BNPB, 2015). Data yang ada menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat Indonesia sangat rentan dan belum siap dalam menghadapi gempa bumi dan tsunami. Kondisi Indonesia yang sangat berpotensi terhadap bencana harus dibarengi dengan kegiatan pengurangan risiko bencana. Sehingga, upaya mitigasi dan peningkatan kesiapsiagaan diri dapat dilakukan terutama oleh anak-anak sebagai bagian dari masyarakat yang paling rentan. Hampir di sebagian besar wilayah Indonesia sarana dan prasarana sekolah yang ada sangatlah rentan. Dibutuhkan pengintergrasian kegiatan mitigasi dan peningkatan kesiapsiagaan menghadapi bencana melalui kegiatan di sekolah, hal ini dapat menjadi sebuah terobosan dalam mengevaluasi dan memonotoring kapasitas peserta didik. Kegiatan dapat dilakukan dengan extrakurikuler mitigasi bencana sehingga tidak akan membebani kurikulum yang telah dilaksanakan di terapkan pada peserta didik. Komunitas sekolah merupakan bagian dari ruang publik dengan tingkat kerentanan tertinggi dalam menghadapi bencana. Telah banyak kerangka, modul, dan panduan dalam upaya peningkatan usaha pengurangan risiko becana maupun peningkatan kapasitas komunitas sekolah dalam menghadapi bencana. Namun, faktanya komunitas sekolah yang berada pada daerah rawan bencana masih belum siap dalam menghadapi bencana. Pendidikan kebencanaan harus dialami oleh peserta didik sedari dini tetapi beban kurikulum pendidikan sekolah telah banyak. Kegiatan ekstrakurikuler mitigasi bencana dapat dijadikan sebuah solusi. Berdasarkan identifikasi masalah yang ditemukan maka rumusan masalah yang akan dibahas yaitu mengenai model ekstrakurikuler mitigasi bencana dan metode ekstrakurikuler mitigasi bencana yang akan diterapkan kepada peserta didik di sekolah Penulisan karya tulis ini berdasarkan data primer hasil penelitian penulis, data sekunder berasal dari lembaga-lembaga/instansi terkait serta studi pustaka yang bersumber pada buku, jurnal ilmiah, berita dan publikasi ilmiah lainnya yang relevan dengan bidang ilmu kebencanaan. Data dianalisis dan diambil kesimpulannya kemudian penulis mengagas suatu model ektrakurikuler mitigasi bencana serta metode penerapannya. Model ekstrakurikuler mitigasi bencana adalah kegiatan ektra yang diikuti oleh peserta didik yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas, dan kemampuan diri dalam menghadapi bencana. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler mitigasi bencana memadukan antara kegiatan pencegahan secara fisik dan peningkatan kesiapsiagaan. Model kegiatan ekstrakurikuler yaitu indikator capaian yang sesuai kemampuan peserta didik, tujuan dan proses penilaian yang mendukung pendidikan mitigasi, menggunakan strategi yang efisien seperti simulasi serta muatan materi yang menarik. Penyusunan kurikulum didasarkan pada analisis kebutuhan dari tingkat kerentanan peserta didik. Kurikulum ini terdiri atas kurikulum dasar untuk peserta didik Sekolah Dasar dan Sekolah Menengah Pertama serta kurikulum tingkat lanjut untuk peserta didik Sekolah Menengah Atas. Pelaksanaan kegiatan mengikuti buku panduan kegiatan dan dilakukan sekali dalam seminggu diluar proses belajar mengajar karena merupakan kegiatan ektrakurikuler. Pembina merupakan guru maupun fasilitator dari BPBD, PMI, dan melibatkan relawan pada bidang kebencanaan yang telah terlatih. Pelaksanaan integrasi ini harus dilakukan secara serentak dan merata di seluruh wilayah Indonesia pada jenjang pendidikan. Tindakan mitigasi yang dilakukan sesuai kemampuan peserta didik. Peningkatan kesiapsiagaan dilakukan dibarengi dengan evaluasi dan monitoring. Metodenya dimulai dengan sosialisasi instrumen kesiapsiagaan di sekolah, penilaian kesiapsiagaan peserta didik, evaluasi hasil kesiapsiagaan, peningkatan kesiapsiagaan dan evaluasi serta monitoring capaian. Berlangsungnya integrasi kesiapsiagaan pada penilaian hasil belajar akhirnya akan menjadi suatu siklus sistem penilaian kesiapsiagaan. Siklus ini harus terus berlangsung dan berkelanjutan dialami oleh peserta didik dan diharapkan peserta didik siap menghadapi berbagai macam potensi bencana di wilayah Indonesia dimanapun mereka berada. Penerapan model ekstrakurikuler mitigasi bencana memerlukan suatu sistem pendidikan yang terencana dalam ketangguhan peserta didik pada setiap jenjang pendidikan. Penerapannya juga memerlukan unsur pendukung dan kerjasama berbagai pihak terkait (stakeholder) seperti, Dinas Pendidikan, BNPB, BPBD, Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), instansi swasta, masyarakat dan komunitas sekolah. Inovasi kegiatan ekstrakurikuler mitigasi bencana dapat menjadi contoh bagi negara-negara di ASEAN dalam hal integrasi pendidikan kebencanaan. Gagasan ini juga merupakan suatu bentuk dukungan dalam keberhasilan Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) yang berfokus pada pendidikan dan anak serta upaya pengurangan risiko bencana secara berkelanjutan di Indonesia.

It causes of the lack of experience in dealing with disaster becomes the major factor. Disaster knowledge is important basic to prepare student and should be given as early as possible, because the varieties and characteristics of regions will affect the potential and threat level in the region. Therefore, the process of sustainable education becomes very important to prepare students for disaster particulary in earthquake that are very common in Indonesia. This research is conducted in Surakarta recidency covers in sub district of Boyolali, Klaten, Sukoharjo, and Surakarta. The research wants to know disaster knowledge levels and to understand preparedness of student in facing earthquake disaster. This research use quantitative destiptive method. Collecting data use method with questionnaire that must be filled by the defined respondent. Result show that student knowledge is in understand category while for the preparedness in facing disaster is in almost ready.

Kabupaten Sukoharjo merupakan daerah yang rawan terhadap berbagai macam bencana diantarannya adal... more Kabupaten Sukoharjo merupakan daerah yang rawan terhadap berbagai macam bencana diantarannya adalah bencana gempa bumi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui tingkat kesiapsiagaan siswa pada satuan pendidikan Muhammadiyah terhadap bencana gempa bumi di Kabupaten Sukoharjo. Objek penelitian merupakan siswa karena merupakan bagian dari komunitas sekolah yang paling rentan terhadap bencana. Penentuan sampel penelitian dengan menggunakan metode quota sampling dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Responden penelitian berjumlah 372 siswa terdiri atas siswa SD, SMP dan SMA Muhammadiyah tersebar di 13 sekolah di Kabupaten Sukoharjo. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: Tingkat kesiapsiagaan siswa pada jenjang SD termasuk kategori “hampir siap” dengan nilai indeks kesiapsiagaan sebesar 60,1, Tingkat kesiapsiagaan siswa pada jenjang SMP termasuk kategori “hampir siap” dengan nilai indeks 62,03, Tingkat kesiapsiagaan siswa pada jenjang SMA termasuk kategori “kurang siap” dengan nilai indeks 45,45.

Pendidikan dan pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai bencana sangat penting dalam mengurangi risiko ben... more Pendidikan dan pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai bencana sangat penting dalam mengurangi risiko bencana. Masyarakat hendaknya mengetahui daerah mereka rawan akan berbagai ancaman bencana seperti, bencana gunung meletus dan gempa bumi. Penelitian dilakukan di Kecamatan Boyolali yang terletak pada radius 20 km terhadap puncak Gunung Merapi dan merupakan daerah rawan bencana gempa bumi dan gunung meletus. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat terhadap bencana gempa bumi dan gunung meletus di Kecamatan Boyolali. Metode penelitian menggunakan Random Sampling Method dan pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Hasil penelitian tingkat pengetahuan terhadap bencana gempa bumi dan gunung meletus masyarakat di Kecamatan Boyolali termasuk katagori “Sedang” dengan nilai indeks 52,9. Penelitian yang dilakukan di Kecamatan Boyolali terdapat 75% masyarakat memiliki pengetahuan dalam memahami tindakan tanggap darurat terhadap bencana gempa bumi, namun hanya 24% masyarakat yang memahami mengenai prediksi bencana gempa bumi. Pada indikator bencana gunung meletus masyarakat lebih memahami mengenai tanda-tanda bencana dibandingkan pengetahuan mengenai gempa bumi yang disebabkan oleh gunung meletus.

The research aims was to determine the readiness of school-related disaster preparedness school i... more The research aims was to determine the readiness of school-related disaster preparedness school in some Muhammadiyah Islamic elementary schools in District Gondangrejo. The object of research is 5 Muhammadiyah Islamic elementary schools in the district spread Gondangrejo, Karanganyar. Collecting research data form the primary data using research instrument in the form of questionnaires with quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that: 1) the Muhammadiyah Islamic elementary schools located in District Gondangrejo acquire preparedness index values between 0-32 with an average index value of 16 and included in katagoti "Not Ready", 2) overall parameters included in the category of "Low" with the index value between 3-30 with the highest parameter values in school policies and lowest parameter is the parameter emergency response plan. It was concluded that the Muhammadiyah Islamic Elementary School in District Gondangrejo Karanganyar not alert to the disaster.

This study wants to determine the level of students' preparedness who attends school in urban and rural areas against floods and earthquakes. The data come from secondary data obtained through research in 2013-2014. 1.150 respondents came from 15 junior high schools. The results show that: 1) the average level of student preparedness against floods is 52.22% and included in the category of less prepared; 2) the average level of preparedness of students to the earthquake is 67.52% and included in the category of prepared; 3) the average level of preparedness of students who attend school in urban areas is 67.72% included in the category of prepared; 4) the average level of preparedness of students who attend school in rural areas is 52.02% and included in the category of less prepared. The study conclude that students who attend school in an urban preparedness higher than students who attend school in rural areas.

Biopore was technology who can increasing infiltration rate, biology activity and soil ecosystem improvement. The objective of this research is to introducing soil periscope technologi and comparison biopore effectiveness that can be observing by see the trace of organism activity, organism abundant and soil infiltration rate. The object in this research are 14 biopore that 7 biopore with organic trash treat and without treat in UMS campus 1 park field. Data were collected by observing and documentation. This research are using quantitative and qualitative method. Hypotheses in this research are "Soil periscope can be use to soil observation and there is must be effectiveness different between biopore". Result of this research showing: 1) Infiltration rate biopore with treat are 1129,91 ml/minute while biopore without treat are 86,66 ml/minute, and 2) Biopore with organic trash treat has more microorganism quantity, 7145,36 microorganism/ml while biopore without organic trash treat, 5846,78 microorganism/ml.

Populasi dalam mencari tingkat ketahanan Desa Lorog dalam menghadapi bencana terkait peran yang telah diberikan pemerintah desa adalah seluruh Aparat Pemerintah Desa Lorog yang berjumlah 10 orang, sedangkan populasi untuk kesiapsiagaan 1.483 KK dengan sampel yang di ambil sebanyak 94 KK dengan teknik pengambilan sampel adalah teknik claster random sampling. Teknik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik dokumentasi, observasi, dan angket. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan: (1) Ketahanan Desa Lorog dalam menghadapi bencana terkait dengan peran yang telah diberikan pemerintah desa tergolong dalam tingkat “Desa Tangguh Bencana Pratama”. (2) Tingkat risiko bencana kekeringan di Desa Lorog dalam kategori kelas tinggi. (3) Kesiapsiagaan masyarakat Desa Lorog dalam menghadapi bencana kekeringan relatif siap dengan jawaban responden yang cenderung mengarah pada jawaban benar dengan persentase sebesar 68,03%.

The biopore holes are some little holes to increase water flow into the ground as the artificial infiltration. The population in this study were fifth grade students from SDIT Muhammadiyah Al Kautsar school and students of classes IV and V were derived from MIM PK school (Special Program) Kartasura. Intake of respondents is done by taking the entire population at each schools are 24 students in the fifth grade of SDIT Muhammadiyah Al Kautsar and 21 students of IV and V grade in the MIM PK School (Special Program). The data obtained through the beginning questionnaire test (pretest) and final test (posttest) about flood mitigation, observation, and documentation. The data analyzing technique using descriptive statistical analysis. The results showed: the level of students knowledge in that two schools concern in flood mitigation disasters on the beginning test (pretest) and final test (posttest) included in "GOOD" categories. It can be seen from the average percentage of student knowledge at each schools that are fifth grade students of SDIT Muhammadiyah Al Kautsar, the average knowledge at the time of the beginning test (pretest) gets a percentage of 92.56%. In the fourth grade students of IV and V grade in the MIM PK School (Special Program) Kartasura, the average knowledge at the time of the beginning test (pretest) gets a percentage of 86.74%. The results of increased analysis of students knowledge about flood mitigation disasters after given practice of the making of biopore holes infiltration in each classes, there is an increase in student knowledge about flood mitigation disasters after the practice of the making of biopore holes infiltration in V grade of SDIT Muhammadiyah Al Kautsar and the IV and V grade students of the MIM PK School (Special Program) Kartasura.

Tujuanpenelitian ini adalah mengetahui dampak banjir terhadap pertanian dan kesiapsiagaanmasyarakat. Responden dibagi menjadi 3 kelompok, yaitu kelompok jarak 0-25m darisungai, 25m-100m dari sungai, dan 100m-250m dari sungai. Pengambilan sampelresponden pertanian melakukan wawancara. Hasil penelitian pertanian menunjukanbahwa banjir menyebabkan adanya kerusakan dan kehilangan pada produksipertanian. Setiap kelompok responden mempunyai tingkat kesiapsiagaan yangberbeda, meskipun kondisi masyarakat mempunyai karakteristik yang sama. PadaPermukiman 0-25m mempunyai tingkat kesiapsiagaan sangat siap, pada permukiman25m-100m mempunyai kesiapsiagaan siap, dan yang bermukim pada jarak 100m-250m mempunyai kesiapsiagaan siap.

This study wants to determine the level of students’ preparedness who attends school in urban and rural areas against floods and earthquakes. The data come from secondary data obtained through research in 2013-2014. 1.150 respondents came from 15 junior high schools. The results show that: 1) the average level of student preparedness against floods is 52.22% and included in the category of less prepared; 2) the average level of preparedness of students to the earthquake is 67.52% and included in the category of prepared; 3) the average level of preparedness of students who attend school in urban areas is 67.72% included in the category of prepared; 4) the average level of preparedness of students who attend school in rural areas is 52.02% and included in the category of less prepared. The study conclude that students who attend school in an urban preparedness higher than students who attend school in rural areas.

Penerapan pilar-pilar sekolah aman bencana sangat penting dilakukan untuk menjamin keselamatan si... more Penerapan pilar-pilar sekolah aman bencana sangat penting dilakukan untuk menjamin keselamatan siswa disekolah yang sedang menempuh pendidikan. Pada bulan Oktober Tahun 2015 Tim Mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Geografi Angkatan 2013, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta melakukan pengabdian masyarakat di Kecamatan Sukoharjo yang memiliki potensi bencana berupa gempa bumi, banjir, puting beliung dan resiko kebakaran. Pengabdian dilaksanakan di satuan pendidikan Muhammadiyah yang tersebar di Kabupaten Sukoharjo. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan sebelumnya di lokasi menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kesiapsiagaan komunitas sekolah masih rendah. Hal ini juga menjadi dasar dan alasan dilakukannya pengabdian di SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo.
