Fast forward a decade and it can't be further from the truth. Radio is facing it's second renaissance precisely because of internet. Technology made broadcasting tailored to personal preferences of every single listener possible which started outright evolution of this classic medium, making sure it will survive and develop further in the future. I have provided the general overview of the current (as of June 2010) state of affairs within search engine business and followed with predictions about development possibilities. My main thesis was that expanding collaboration between various information search services and social networks could improve both marketing and usability of the online search engine as information obtaining service.
(In purpose of narrowing the details of research, Russia is considered as part of European online market, although it represents the inter-exchange link between the America/US and China markets as the most influential.)
