NixOS fits perfectly with our way of working. It is an operating system that revolves around reproducibility and flexibility. During NixCon25 and FOSDEM’26, we had valuable discussions about this within the NixOS community, including with Sebastian Kraus, a board member of the NixOS Foundation. These meetings only reinforced our decision to support NixOS. NovaCustom looks forward to strengthening its relationship with the NixOS team.
What is NixOS?
NixOS is known for its unique system configuration and Nix package management system. This combination offers a number of important advantages:
- Declarative configuration: system configuration is defined as code, making it easy to reproduce the system.
- Rollback possibility: with NixOS, you can easily revert to the previous system configuration if, for example, you have made a mistake in the new one.
- Minimalistic: the initial installation of NixOS provides a minimal set of software.
- Better dependency management: use different versions of software and libraries simultaneously without conflicts.

Although NixOS is extremely powerful, we understand that it can sometimes be overwhelming for newcomers. That is why we help to keep the entry barrier low by offering NixOS pre-installed and properly configured.
