
Kelly Macias
Kelly Macias received her Ph.D. from the Department of Conflict Analysis and Resolution at Nova Southeastern University. Her dissertation research entitled "Tweeting Away Our Blues: An Interpretative Phenomenological Approach to Exploring Black Women's Use of Social Media to Combat Misogynoir" focuses on how Black women in the US and Britain use social media for storytelling and testimony about their lives as Black women. Kelly has presented her work at international and national conferences including the Conference on African American Culture and Experience in Greensboro, North Carolina, the National Association of Ethnic Studies Conference in Starkville, Mississippi and the Testimony: Memory, Trauma, Engagement, Truth Conference in Oxford, United Kingdom.
