同一の人物を生成できるMidjourney v7の新機能「Omni Reference」の検証 - Blog 2025/05/03
Midjourney v7の新機能「Omni Reference」が利用可能になりましたので、試してみます。
同等の機能はすでに多数の画像生成AIモデルに搭載されていますので、目新しさはありませんが、v7では待望の実装です。

Using an Omni Reference allows you to put characters, objects, vehicles, or non-human creatures from a reference image into your Midjourney creations.
Omni Referenceを使用すると、キャラクターやオブジェクトを一貫性を保持したまま様々なシーンに追加できます。
この機能は、パーソナライズやムードボード、スタイライズ、スタイルリファレンスなどと組み合わせて使用できます。
この生成画像をリファレンスにしてみます。
リファレンスにする画像をマウスで「Omni-Reference」の位置までドラッグすると、登録されます。
※デスクトップ上の画像ファイルをドラッグすることもできます。
プロンプト：
Japanese young woman. She is walking around Asakusa in Tokyo. --ar 16:9 --raw --v 7
プロンプトを実行すると、自動的に「--oref url」が追加されますが、プロンプト欄には表示されません。
補足：
プロンプトを他人と共有したい場合は、メニューから取得します。「--oref url」を含むプロンプトをコピーできます。
生成結果です。
リファレンス画像と同一の人物が生成されています。

「ow」パラメータは、1～1000の値を設定できます。数値が高いほど、リファレンス画像を忠実に再現します。ただ、強すぎる場合、プロンプトの内容を無視しますので、バランスを考慮しながら設定する必要があります。
旧バージョンの6.1で使用してきたCharacter Referenceと大きな違いはありませんが、Omni-Referenceはキャラクターだけではなくオブジェクトにも対応しているので、同一の武器を持たせるなど、表現の幅がさらに広がります。※Omni Referenceを使用すると、通常のv7の生成と比較して処理時間が2倍かかります。
生成された画像は、Editorで調整して完成させます。

リファレンス機能は、すでに多くの画像生成／動画生成AIモデルに実装されていますので、標準機能と捉えてよいでしょう。
テキストプロンプト入力だけの偶然性に頼る非効率な作業は、2年前から問題になっていましたが、リファレンス機能は「テキストではなくビジュアルで指示する」ことでAIモデルに「より具体的な情報」を与えられるスタンダードなUIとして定着しています。
