Hello! Here's my life in 100 words: I grew up in southeastern Colorado and eventually went to California to attend Harvey Mudd College, where I earned a math degree. I then moved to Houston to work as an analyst/software developer at Saracen Energy. Following that, I came to Chicago to work both as an organist and at Ibira Capital Management. Eventually, I became a full time musician and worked at the Fourth Presbyterian Church of Chicago, where I played the organ for one of the nation's largest church music programs. I've fulfilled all of my musical goals and I'm now ready to move back into tech.

Things I've Done
Recurse Center • Participant
The Recurse Center is a retreat center for programmers (note: not a bootcamp). It's physically in Brooklyn, but I did most of my 12 week batch remotely from Chicago.
During my batch, I did a dive into many systems programming topics, including assemblers, web browsers, (re)learning C++, and performance engineering, among others. My most "finished" project was Gemino, but I also started several other projects along with making some open source contributions.
Ibira Capital Management • Quantitative Analyst & Software Engineer
I was the first employee at Ibira Capital Management. I built the company's entire software platform, which was used for
- Placing daily trades
- Researching potential trading strategies
- Managing and organizing data
I also did extensive work to parallelize our research code to enable it to run on large AWS EC2 machines, and wrote additional tooling to manage those runs.
Saracen Energy Advisors • Junior Analyst
At Saracen, I ran the company's data platform. I triaged and implemented requests for any new data sources and fixed anything that broke with existing ones.
I also oversaw the development of several key tools used for visualizing and tracking data that were used throughout the company.
Fourth Presbyterian Church • Associate Organist
I spent a few years working as a full-time organist. At Fourth, I worked with (both conducting and accompanying) seven adult choirs and three childrens' choirs, played for weekly services but also for several high profile events, including the 2023 national gala of the American Guild of Organists, and performed in nearly thirty concerts.
I also spent several months as Acting Director of Music between the departure of the former Organist & Director of Music and the arrival of his replacement.
Harvey Mudd College • B.S. in Mathematics
I graduated in the Class of 2017 with a degree in mathematics. My focus was mostly in applied and computational mathematics. I also have a deep love for non-linear dynamics and chaos.
I also took several computer science courses, including the usual foundation courses but also a foray into high-performance computing.
My work on my senior clinic project for Saracen Energy Advisors received the John Greever prize for the most outstanding individual contribution to a Harvey Mudd math clinic project.
