Charlé Swigart
My name is Charlé van Heerden. I originally come from South Africa, however I have lived in South Korea from 2012 until January 2015 and I am now established in the United States.
In 2006 I started my legal studies at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University and in 2010 I started to serve my articles as a Candidate attorney at an intimate law firm in Central Port Elizabeth, South Africa. In 2012 I moved to the EPIK program as a teacher in South Korea. In addition, in 2013 I started my Masters Degree in Maritime Law at Korea Maritime and Ocean University in Busan. I have submitted my thesis and successfully completed my Masters degree from the aforementioned institution.
I am, among other things, hardworking, communicative, honest, dynamic, friendly, loyal, an extrovert and devoted. My experience in the legal department required me to personally consult with my clients, following up with each of my clients personally and compile every Action or Application with all supporting affidavits and other documentary support.
It is required of me to indulge in in-depth research regarding every aspect of the information the clients provides in order to enable me to best advise the client with the regard to their prospects of success as well as familiarize myself with the conditions of the client in order to honestly and fully defend the client who has been wronged. I articulate myself very well and my language and grammatical skills are pristine.
My teaching experience was gained in South Korea where I was an English teacher and an educator from 2012 until January, 2015. My students related to my teaching style and I was flexible enough to adjust my techniques to cater for each student’s needs. During my time in Korea, I was driven to achieve more. I then joined the broadcasting team at Busan EFM, which is an English radio station in the second biggest city in South Korea. I hosted a daily travel show which challenged me to write and conduct interviews for the segment.
I view myself as a dynamic, flexible and an open-minded individual and I easily adapted to my circumstances. Therefore I am a passionate and open-minded teacher, mentor, employee and colleague. I easily relate to my colleagues, my students and my circumstances.
