1 maand, 1 week - Weapons director Zach Cregger joins IGN to reveal all the easter eggs and references to the legendary Capcom survival-horror series in the teaser trailer for Resident Evil, which is bursting with lower case "w" weapons, terrifying t-virus monsters and, yes, zombified corpses raining down like bloody bombs over Austin Abrams as he runs for his life down the streets of Raccoon City. Cregger also details how, despite the movie's Resident Evil 2-adjacent story, the movie's structure was inspired by his favorite game in the franchise: Resident Evil 4.Resident Evil is in theaters September 18th.

The film stars Austin Abrams, Paul Walter Hauser, Zach Cherry, and Kali Reis.Constantin Film is producing and co-financing the film. Constantin’s Robert Kulzer, Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee, Miri Yoon, and PlayStation Productions are also producing. Columbia Pictures will release Resident Evil in theaters on September 18, 2026.
