Taiwo Adewale Muritala

Taiwo is an experienced, seasoned  lecturer with a proven track record of success in providing university-level instruction and delivering engaging lectures. He has a passion for knowledge and enjoys helping students develop a love of learning. He is committed to creating a positive learning environment that encourages exploration and growth. Taiwo’s areas of interest are in Financial Management, Energy Finance, Financial Econometrics, International Finance, Risk Management and Banking Operations. He is a talented professional scholar with 14 years’ experience in teaching and research in Finance. He has publications in local, national and international outlets which are showcased in Scopus, Web of Science and university based journals. He is currently the Faculty Research Committee, Nile University of Nigeria, Abuja. He is a Certified Professional Financial Manager (CPFM); Professional member of the Chartered Institutes of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN); Fellow member of Institutes of Financial Management and Business Diplomacy (IFMBD); member of CFA Institutes; member of Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA) and affiliate member of Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP). His experience and leadership have been focused on developing and delivering tutoring to postgraduate students in research and finance and has mentored and supervised five Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.); six Master of Philosophy (MPhil.); ten Master of Business Administration (MBA).

Prior to joining Nile University of Nigeria in 2021, Taiwo served as the Head of Department of Accounting and Finance as well as Dean of the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences in Fountain University, Osogbo, Nigeria in 2019 and 2021 respectively. In addition to serving over 3 years at Nile University of Nigeria, Taiwo served for over eleven years in teaching at Fountain Univeristy Osogbo, Nigeria rising through the rank of Assistant Lecturer to Senior Lecturer and leadership positions. Taiwo is a Ph.D. holder in Accounting and Finance from University of Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. He has diverse qualifications in Management Sciences with M.Sc. in Financial Services, Risk & Operations in 2008 from the Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland, UK; Certificate in Successful Change Management in 2007 from University of Oxford, UK and B.Ed. (Economics & Educational Management) in 1999 from University of Ibadan and Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE - Economics & Mathematics) from the St. Andrew’s College of Education, Oyo State in 1994.
