This paper is a contrastive study concerned with the English phrasemes related to time and their ... more This paper is a contrastive study concerned with the English phrasemes related to time and their Serbian translation equivalents. It aims at comparing and contrasting the English phrasemes and their Serbian translation equivalents in terms of the lexical structure starting from the assumption that the largest number of phrasemes would be lexically different from their Serbian counterparts. Secondly, the present study aims at investigating the second assumption that the English phrasemes and their Serbian translation equivalents that are counted as instances of lexical correspondence are motivated by the same conceptual metaphors related to time. The corpus of this research paper is comprised of 176 English phrasemes and their Serbian translation equivalents taken from a bilingual English and Serbian phraseological dictionary written by Živorad Kovačević.
