Fukui "Eiheiji" ~ Experience Zen meditation ~

I've been to Eiheiji Temple in Fukui Prefecture once before, but it was already evening so I didn't go inside. This time, I paid the entrance fee and went inside. Apparently it is projected when the bells are rung to celebrate the New Year's holiday.

It's a large, spacious temple with many monks in training, and I passed them many times in the corridors. Most of them are young. There were about 4-5 people lined up at the entrance.
There was a sign for a zazen experience, and the time was just right, so I decided to try it. My partner had done it before at another temple, but this was my first time. It was 500 yen ( ´艸`).
I'm interested in meditation and mindfulness, and I sometimes look at books and try things out, so I'm looking forward to zazen.

There will be about 10 participants, and you will first be taught Buddhist words and etiquette. We move to the room for zazen, but I have to move quietly and the solemn atmosphere makes me a little nervous.
My father's family home is a temple, and my grandfather and my father's brother were monks, but I don't know anything about Buddhism. I've only just realized that I didn't know anything ( ´艸`).
〇〇〇〇〇
It's hard enough just to sit in a straight line and keep my back straight ( ´艸`). My body is so stiff ( ´艸`).
The zazen time is 15 minutes, and before I know it, I'm filled with distractions like, "I wonder what everyone's doing," or wondering where the monks are when I hear their footsteps. It was a good experience and I think I'd like to do it for longer.
〇〇〇〇〇
I'm not religious, and in the past I thought religion was suspicious, but recently I've come to think that it has a lot of wisdom for living. I would like to learn a little about Buddhism.

Kobe Onsen① "Nada Onsen Suidobashi" - Carbonated spring water flowing directly from the source, and a cold bath with Rokko natural water at the price of a public bath(JAPAN)
This hot spring may be my number one so far.
I've been to hot springs all over the country, but my favorite is one close to home.
"Nada Onsen Suidobashi" is a natural hot spring in Nada Ward, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture. The water flows directly from the source, full of carbon dioxide. The fine bubbles of natural carbon dioxide gently wrap around the skin, and the carbon dioxide dissolved in the source seems to penetrate the body. The slightly lower temperature, close to body temperature, is comfortable and makes the body feel light. If you close your eyes and stay in the bath for a while, your body and head will feel light and fluffy, and you'll want to stay in the bath forever. I thought this was more medicinal than any other medicine. It's not too cold, so it's good for people who don't like saunas or cold baths. I like saunas, though.
Some hot springs have heated sources. It is recommended to alternate between hot and cold baths and hot and cold baths.
The cold bath is natural mineral-rich underground water from the foot of Mt. Rokko. The well water is always filled with fresh water at a natural temperature (around 20 degrees). This cold bath is the perfect ice bath after climbing Mt. Rokko.
Location: 850m from Hankyu Oji Koen Station, through Suidobashi Shopping Street. Suidobashi Shopping Street is also fun, with many good restaurants. Parking is a little difficult, but there is a free parking lot for 20 cars. The cable car station for Mt. Maya (a 702m mountain located at the western end of the Rokko mountain range), which I think has the most beautiful night view of Rokko, is 1.5km from Oji Koen Station (although it is uphill).
Opening hours: 5am to midnight (last entry at 11:45pm)
Rest area: The women's bath is on the second floor, and on the mezzanine floor there is a stylish space with a small sofa and books on the history of Kobe and the effects of hot and cold baths.
Rates and amenities: Adults 450 yen, Sauna 150 yen, Coin-operated hair dryer, Free body soap and rinse-in-shampoo
Osaka Toyonaka "Zundoya" Rich Tonkotsu Ramen(JAPAN)

I came to Zundoya with my mother for the first time in a while (^ω^).
I used to come here occasionally.
○○○○○
When I go to a restaurant with my elderly and faltering mother, she sometimes gives me a dirty look. She can't eat a single serving.
This time, we ordered one bowl of ramen and one half serving of fried rice to share between the two of us. Then, without saying anything, the female waitress immediately brought us small plates of ramen and fried rice. This kind of thing is appreciated and a relief (´艸`). If she looked unwilling, I would want to leave immediately...

Zundoya serves rich, flavorful tonkotsu ramen, and it has become more and more common in recent times, so you can see it everywhere. You can eat as much takana as you want (´艸`). The fried rice is also delicious.

"It's been about a year since we last came, it's been a while. Let's come again." I enjoyed the meal.
A great day.
