The university ranked 56th in the world for life sciences and medicine, according to the QS World University Rankings by subject. 

McMaster also rose in four specific subject areas this year: anatomy and physiology; nursing; kinesiology (sports-related subjects); and medicine. Each subject ranked among the top 35 globally in their respective areas.

Essa Nadeem spent last summer helping people. 

That’s how the political science student describes his co-op as a Municipal Law Enforcement Officer Student, patrolling Hamilton’s parks for the city’s by-law office. 

“It was the first job where I was given authority, which allowed me to help people.” 

He shares how the experience helped him grow, and the confidence he gained. 

“The role requires a level of maturity and professionalism that a lot of jobs don’t offer,” he said. “I had to be out there, all eyes on me, and people expected answers.”
