Creative Technology Color Explosion Burst In Laptop Notebook Computer

We’re excited to introduce Nelio A/B Testing 7.4, our latest update that takes WordPress optimization to the next level! This new version brings brand-new test types to help you get the most out of your site while also improving integration with third-party plugins like WooCommerce or Elementor.

If you’re looking to optimize conversions, Nelio A/B Testing 7.4 is the tool you need to make smarter decisions with confidence. Let’s dive into what makes this release so exciting!

PHP Tests

One of the most exciting additions in Nelio A/B Testing 7.4 is the introduction of PHP tests. PHP tests address a key challenge faced by developers and agencies who rely on Nelio A/B Testing: overcoming the limitations of our already-existing test types and making it possible to test practically anything.

While our traditional tests (such as page, template, or product tests) are incredibly powerful for many scenarios, heavily customized setups often require a more flexible approach. PHP tests bridge this gap, opening up a new range of opportunities to tackle even the most complex and tailored configurations with ease.

Whether you’re working with custom themes, plugins, or advanced WooCommerce setups, PHP tests give you the freedom to experiment in ways that were previously out of reach. This feature is designed to meet the needs of developers who demand precision and adaptability, ensuring that no customization is too complex to test and optimize. It’s a game-changer for pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in A/B testing and WordPress.

By leveraging WordPress hooks, as well as any custom filters and actions you’ve implemented in your own website, you can create highly customized tests with just a few lines of code. It’s developer empowerment, redefined.

CodeMirror

And to make your development workflow even smoother, we’ve integrated CodeMirror as the default code editor in Nelio. This means you’ll now enjoy syntax highlighting, code linting, and an overall enhanced coding experience while creating alternative content in PHP, JavaScript, and CSS tests.

Thanks to CodeMirror, we can now highlight syntax, show lint errors, and provide auto-completion and built-in documentation.

As you can see, this upgrade is all about empowering developers to work smarter, not harder. We’ve designed these enhancements to elevate your developer experience, ensuring that every step in your testing journey feels seamless and intuitive. Hope you like it!

Popup Tests for Elementor and Nelio Popups

The second brand-new feature in Nelio A/B Testing 7.4 is Popup Tests. This innovative test type allows you to take any popup on your website, create an alternative version, and determine which one drives more conversions. Whether you’re testing different calls-to-action and designs, or you’re checking which triggers work best, Popup tests empower you to optimize these high-impact elements with precision and confidence.

Now, we know that popups aren’t a default feature in WordPress—they require third-party plugins to implement. That’s why we’ve built seamless compatibility with some of the most popular tools in the ecosystem. With this release, we’ve laid the groundwork to support third-party popup plugins, starting with Elementor Popups, one of the most acclaimed solutions in the market. And, of course, we’ve also ensured full compatibility with our very own Nelio Popups plugin.

What if you’re using a different popup builder? No problem—we’ve got you covered! If your preferred plugin isn’t yet supported, simply reach out to us, and we’ll do everything we can to integrate it into future releases. Our goal is to ensure that, no matter which tool you use to create popups, you’ll always have the ability to run split tests and optimize for better results.

At Nelio, we’re committed to making A/B testing accessible and powerful for everyone, no matter your setup. Your feedback drives our innovation, so don’t hesitate to let us know how we can support your popup testing needs!

Advanced WooCommerce Order Tracking

The final standout feature in Nelio A/B Testing 7.4 is the redesigned WooCommerce order conversion actions, which take flexibility and precision to a whole new level. In previous versions, you could track either all WooCommerce orders or orders containing one specific product. But after listening to your feedback, we’ve expanded this functionality to give you even more control over what counts as a conversion.

Customize your WooCommerce order conversion actions by specifying expected or excluded products, ensuring your A/B tests track only the orders that matter most to your goals.

Now, you can define custom conditions that a WooCommerce order must meet to be considered relevant and trigger a conversion in your test. For example, you can specify that an order must include a specific set of products for it to be relevant. If one expected product is missing, the order won’t be tracked. But that’s not all—you can also specify which products an order should not include for it to be eligible!

This level of granularity ensures that your A/B tests are tailored to your exact business goals, whether you’re promoting a specific product lineup or excluding certain items from your campaigns. It’s all about giving you the tools to track what truly matters.

…and more!

Yes, there’s more! Here’s all the other minor changes introduced in this update:

  • Change “Page Views” and “Conversions” labels to “Unique Page Views” and “Unique Conversions” when needed.
  • Fix incorrect content loading on some themes when running template tests.
  • Fix some typos in plugin labels.
  • Fix bug with page tests against already existing content and phantom global consistency.
  • Trigger CustomEvent (nelio-ab-testing/track) in JavaScript when plugin is about to track a visitor event, replacing previous postMessage call with plugin:nelio-ab-testing and type:testing-event.
