Latest release now available
Are you generating genomes for vertebrates, arthropods, or plants, and looking for a way to generate high-quality genome annotation? NCBI is working on a public version of the NCBI Eukaryotic Genome Annotation Pipeline (EGAPx), and the latest developmental release is now available for testing and feedback.
What’s new?
- Improved Gene Annotation: Classifies and names genes using orthology and well-supported proteins.
- Automated Setup: Supply the species and RNA-seq data, and the process will automatically configure with the proper parameters and input data.
- Expanded Species and Data Integration: Broader support for plant and vertebrate species with better integration of functional and structural data outputs.
- Performance and Usability Enhancements: Faster processing, better error handling, and improved support for large genomic sequences.
Available on GitHub
EGAPx is available on GitHub. We want to hear from you! Please open issues in GitHub for any problems you may encounter. If you’d like to be an early tester as we refine the output and workflow for submitting EGAPx annotation to GenBank, please contact us at [email protected].
Stay up to date
EGAPx is part of the NIH Comparative Genomics Resource (CGR). CGR facilitates reliable comparative genomics analyses for all eukaryotic organisms through an NCBI Toolkit and community collaboration.
