As of September 13, 2024, this full release incorporates genomic, transcript, and protein data containing:
- 472,512,852 records
- 355,355,673 proteins
- 65,576,846 RNAs
- Sequences from 155,792 organisms
New eukaryotic genome annotations
This release contains new or updated annotations generated by NCBI’s eukaryotic genome annotation pipeline for 46 species, including:
- Zebrafish, based on assembly GRCz11 (GCF_000002035.6-RS_2024_08) (pictured)
- Pygmy sperm whale, based on new assembly mKogBre1_haplotype_1 (GCF_026419965.1-RS_2024_07)
- North Island brown kiwi, based on new assembly bAptMan1.hap1 (GCF_036417845.1-RS_2024_08)
- Argentine ant, based on new assembly Lhum_UNIL_v1.0 (GCF_040581485.1-RS_2024_08)
- Cnidarian Clytia hemisphaerica, based on new assembly Clytia_hemisphaerica_genome_assembly (GCF_902728285.1-RS_2024_07)
- Japanese rice, based on new assembly ASM3414082v1 (GCF_034140825.1-RS_2024_06)
Human annotation update
The following were updated to incorporate the latest curation work:
- GRCh38.p14 assembly: Annotation Release GCF_000001405.40-RS_2024_08 is an update of RS_2023_10
- T2T-CHM13v2.0 assembly: Annotation Release GCF_009914755.1-RS_2024_08 is an update of RS_2023_10
WormBase and PomBase db_xrefs
The cross-references for Caenorhabditis elegans (WormBase) and Schizosaccharomyces pombe (PomBase) have been restored in this release.
