Jonas De Neef (°1992) studied Modern History at the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium. He worked as a librarian for the Belgian municipality of Ternat. Since 2020, he has published a dozen (e)books on the Napoleonic Wars with a focus on French eyewitness accounts. He has more planned in the future. Jonas was invited as a speaker for the International Napoleonic Society conferences several times.
In his free time, Jonas writes articles for diverse Napoleonic associations and provided translation work for several historians worldwide, mostly focusing on the French perspective through primary sources. You might come across him on Napoleonic-themed podcasts as well.
An ongoing project of his is to gather forgotten eyewitness accounts into a supplement for Jean Tulard’s ‘Bibliographie critique des mémoires sur le Consulat et l’Empire’.
The Napoleonic Wars fascinate Jonas since 2008, and many years later, he’s still addicted!
