Academy of Language Studies, Even after years of learning English in both primary and secondary levels, many university students are still rather weak when it comes to speaking in English, including performing discussions in the language. Many are not confident and afraid to use English in public. Thus this study attempts to investigate whether students are using appropriate language strategies as they take part in a group discussion. Data was gathered through group observations of part three Civil Engineering diploma students of University Teknologi MARA Perlis. The findings reveal that the students were able to employ varying language forms that were introduced to them, in assisting them to communicate their ideas effectively while performing a group discussion. .

In the context of today’s media realities which is influenced by rich access to news and information from various media sources, many viewers are unaware that media often constructed its content to persuade individuals of a certain intended message. However, recent years have seen the declining trust towards the media, which contributes to public belief that media has no longer adhere to its traditional media ethics. This study aims to investigate the biases and persuasion strategies as utilised in media interviews. Investigation on the interpersonal meanings articulated by the interactants was carried out based on their Mood choices. The data were obtained from two transcriptions of television interviews on the death of Muammar Gaddafi. Tourism industry in Malaysia is being developed to be better thus, making Malaysia as one of the most attractive countries to visit. Many Village Stays in Malaysia are owned and managed by inexperienced personnel and have inefficient system. This makes local products and nearby tourist attractions not able to be advertised properly or are not made known to the public. So, the objectives of this project are to develop Village Stay Reservation and Management System that caters for the information of the local tourist attraction products and to evaluate Village Stay Reservation and Management System in terms of perceived ease of use. In order to achieve the objectives, this project develops the system using PHP programming language and tests the system of its functionality, usability and user acceptance.
