Nadi Marketing Code of Ethics
1. Mission and Values
Nadi Marketing is a partnership marketing agency committed to fostering meaningful connections between sustainable and purpose-led businesses and non-profit organizations. Our work is rooted in the belief that effective marketing can power positive environmental and social change. We are dedicated to integrity, transparency, and building authentic relationships for the betterment of our communities and the planet.
2. Commitment to Sustainability
Sustainability is the core of our business. We actively integrate environmental responsibility into our operations and client partnerships.
- 1% for the Planet Membership: We are a proud member of 1% for the Planet and track all of our contributions through their verified platform. This includes monetary donations, pro-bono services, and volunteer hours dedicated to vetted environmental nonprofits.
- Ethical Partnerships: We only partner with and promote businesses and organizations that demonstrate a genuine commitment to sustainable and socially responsible practices.
- Mindful AI Usage: We acknowledge the environmental impact of AI. To mitigate this, we adopt a thoughtful approach:
- We repurpose AI-generated content (e.g., images) across multiple channels to maximize its value and reduce the energy footprint per use.
- We do not generate native video via AI. Instead, we use AI exclusively for editing and captioning our own captured videos, which is a more energy-efficient approach.
3. Integrity and Transparency
We believe that trust is the foundation of strong partnerships. Therefore, we pledge to:
- Transparent Pricing: To be upfront, we publish our pricing directly on our website.
- Honest Communication: All our marketing efforts and communications will be truthful, accurate, and transparent. We will not engage in “greenwashing” or make misleading claims.
- Client Collaboration: We involve our clients in our processes, including a clear discussion on the level of AI usage they are comfortable with, from strategy to execution.
- Confidentiality: We protect the confidential information of our clients and partners.
4. Community and Relationships
Our name, Nadi, reflects the concept of connection and flow. We are dedicated to building and nurturing strong, interconnected communities by:
- Respect for All: We treat everyone with respect and dignity, regardless of background, beliefs, or identity. We are committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment.
- Positive Impact: We measure our success not only by business results but also by the positive impact our partnerships have on communities and the environment.
5. Commitment to Environmental Justice & Underserved Communities
Nadi Marketing recognizes that climate change and economic instability disproportionately affect specific populations. We believe that marketing should be a tool for equity, and we commit to prioritizing environmental justice in our operations and advocacy.
- Organizing Partner of San Diego Climate Week: Nadi Marketing is a founding and organizing partner of San Diego Climate Week. We view this not as a single annual event, but as a year-round movement dedicated to accelerating local climate solutions, building resilience, and ensuring that environmental justice is central to all climate action across San Diego County.
- Defining “Underserved”: To maintain accountability, we adopt the definition of “underserved communities” as established by U.S. Executive Order 13985 and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This refers to populations sharing a particular characteristic, as well as geographic communities, that have been systematically denied a full opportunity to participate in aspects of economic, social, and civic life. Specifically:
- Low-Income Areas: Defined by HUD as census tracts where the median family income does not exceed 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI).
- Systemically Marginalized Groups: Individuals who face barriers based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
- A Data-Driven Approach: In our local San Diego efforts, we use CalEnviroScreen 4.0 to identify communities most burdened by pollution and socioeconomic challenges.
- We prioritize outreach and pro bono support for partners in high-impact census tracts (70th–100th percentile), specifically in South Bay and East County.
- We commit to bridging the “representation gap” by ensuring our programs and partnerships extend beyond coastal areas into urban and central zones with the highest environmental burdens.
- Building Year-Round Relationships: We do not view community engagement as seasonal. We commit to year-round collaboration with community-based organizations (CBOs) in underserved areas to ensure climate and marketing strategies are led by those most impacted.
