BEST PART: The story is still making sense!! I usually plan key scenes and other notes ahead of time, this time I was too busy fangirling on tumblr didn’t, so it added to the stress, but actually I really liked the unexpected turns the story took.

THE GOOD: After 49k, the Ianto-esque character kissed the MC “onscreen” (very briefly tho), how very Janto of them, I approve *G* I hope I played out their relationship well enough so that readers would see the kiss as natural progression and not as ‘omg, they’re gay!’ but yeah, will need a test reader.

THE BAD: This will need shitload of editing to turn into more sci-fi/fake utopia/dystopia that I intended it to be, it just feels to me like an exciting drama with a little action in a special setting… and maybe too much talking heads because as a non-native writer I’m better with dialogue than prose…

THE SAD: I realized today that someone or more of the 4 main characters and those close to them will have to be killed. I know it’s not going to be the Ianto-esque character and his boyfriend, that’s for sure! But it still makes me sad. I’ll see if I can make it more open to interpretation than outright death tho. I’ve done it before, but I’m too depressed to kill characters right now >_>

This is my slowest nano start ever. When I was working full time I got to 10k on day 3 and made it to 50k by the start of week 3. I GUESS WRITING AND FULL TIME FANGIRLING DON'T MIX AS WELL. xD

Progress by the end of week 1:

9572 / 50000 words. 19% done!

Not that bad, considering how Distracted is my middle name and Easily is my first.

+I love the ianto-esque character, I still want to call him Lanto. Maybe I'll get his bf someone to nickname him that.
+The pacing is surprisingly good so far
++My friend read the first 3 chapters and said it was fun and definitely not boring :D I hope she's not just saying it to make me happy
-My main character still hasn't shown up
-I have not done any research and just bullshit my way through the story
-I have not done any notes or plot outline or any sort of planning like I do every year and I'm just making shit up as I go
-I get lost in rambling descriptions, this will need so much rewriting (with research too)
-+No buttsex?! Somehow this year I'm not writing porn! but the main character will be when he shows up romantically involved with the Ianto-esque character offscreen but it will hopefully be revealed with a kiss later on.(yeah, they're Janto inspired, but the MC won't be as flamboyant as CJ. um, maybe a liiiitle.)

oh my, haven't updated in ages... mostly due to a persistent infection in my shoulder that makes my arm hurt pretty bad, but also because I've been lazy... so the usual.

There's not a lot of anime to watch recently, but in the past few months I've done a lot of catch up to American tv shows and also fell to the evil clutches of british tv. Let's see, am currently up to date with SPN, Sherlock & Warehouse 13. total geek for Doctor Who (although I still miss David Tennant, his expressive face just done me in), and I blame mirai_may for getting me to watch everything Torchwood - I started watching for Captain Jack and now I'm scarily obsessed with Ianto Jones WHY GOD WHY and Janto... Gareth David-Lloyd is doing things to me that no actual 3D celeb has done since 2002!! I even started reading Janto fanfics, lots of them, I haven't read fanfics in over 5 years. they're that OTP ;___;
IT CRUSHED MY FUCKING SOUL BUT I LOVE THEM. I'm either cursed or a maso. T_T


I even got a tumblr just for Ianto fangirling reasons... um, feeling 20 again.



and then I look at the date and somehow it's almost November again, which mean it's Nano time! I'm gonna attempt to put fangirling on hold and try to write if my bitch infection won't bug me too much.
This year I'm going to attempt writing science fiction, a prequel to another story actually. And it will have two characters who I hope will be inspired by Jack and Ianto... *sigh*

I SURVIVED!!!!! ORE WA JIYUUUUUUUU~~ (yes channeling herooo here)

I don't know how it happened, yesterday was the real breakthrough when I suddenly wrote almost 5k in one seating, otherwise my writing was really slow and I wasn't sure I was going to finish.
NOT THAT MY STORY IS ANYWHERE NEAR BEING FINISHED... orz I feel like I've only made it halfway into the story.... I fail with pacing.


And now what? I think I'll take a shower and work a bit on my baseball story since I've missed it so much x3

As of Day 4, 9PM, my word count stands at:

12517 / 50000 words. 25% done!

Not too shabby but the last couple of days have been slow because I wasted lots of time on research, as well as not knowing where my story is going >_>
It's the first time I'm writing "blind" without any notes for the plot or key scenes, because I was busy working on my other WIP stories and started researching too late... only got setting notes D:


I'm worried about the pace, that I'm not too fast or too slow.. and also my first attempt at writing real 3rd person limited narrative!

All very stressing, BUT it's still fun! And I even had a surprise sex scene! (well, maybe not according to Bill Clinton ;D)

Ugh. Right now I'm getting a migraine T_T hope it will go away quick... *sigh*

Oh Hai there. Haven't posted in ages but I'm not dead yet... life is still a boring mere existential terrain and I kept being lazy about posting things I wanted to post and time just passed way too quickly >_>;

My summer was all about baseball as I was following LIVE the koshien games (yes waking up as early as 2am and 5am)... MLB games may be boring, but watching Japanese baseball with cute boys makes it different - like the difference between watching anime and watching anime with an eye candy XD

Oh, and also had a short trip to Russia in late July, in the midst of their historical record-breaking heat wave - yeah, wanted to escape the hideous summer here and it was actually worse there - but I'll leave it to another entry another time, maybe.

ANYWAY, the reason I'm posting is because it's that time of the year again! And no I don't mean the (kinda blah) fall anime season..

Already got my story idea (which evolved from a screenplay idea I had in 1999 or so...) and the title is adopted from Pan-chan.
You can see the short synopsis in the novel info on my profile here :D I hope I can make it! (P.S I love that I'm still 28 on there!! 28 forever bb! hell yeah! *G*)

So who else signed up for the 2010 craze?? I'm getting all hyped! Too bad I haven't finished my gaysball baseball story yet... recently hit 75k words, only took 14 months! LOL
