BEST PART:<\/strong> The story is still making sense!! I usually plan key scenes and other notes ahead of time, this time I was too busy fangirling on tumblr<\/strike> didn\u2019t, so it added to the stress, but actually I really liked the unexpected turns the story took.<\/p>

THE GOOD:<\/strong> After 49k, the Ianto-esque character kissed the MC \u201conscreen\u201d (very briefly tho), how very Janto of them, I approve *G* I hope I played out their relationship well enough so that readers would see the kiss as natural progression and not as \u2018omg, they\u2019re gay!\u2019 but yeah, will need a test reader.<\/p>

THE BAD:<\/strong> This will need shitload of editing to turn into more sci-fi\/fake utopia\/dystopia that I intended it to be, it just feels to me like an exciting drama with a little action in a special setting\u2026 and maybe too much talking heads because as a non-native writer I\u2019m better with dialogue than prose\u2026<\/p>

THE SAD:<\/strong> I realized today that someone or more of the 4 main characters and those close to them will have to be killed. I know it\u2019s not going to be the Ianto-esque character and his boyfriend, that\u2019s for sure! But it still makes me sad. I\u2019ll see if I can make it more open to interpretation than outright death tho. I\u2019ve done it before, but I\u2019m too depressed to kill characters right now >_><\/p>

Gareth David-Lloyd is doing things to me that no actual 3D celeb has done since 2002!! I even started reading Janto fanfics, lots of them, I haven't read fanfics in over 5 years. they're that OTP ;___;
IT CRUSHED MY FUCKING SOUL BUT I LOVE THEM. I'm either cursed or a maso. T_T

So I tried it! It has lots of exaggerated censoring (I wonder if they are mocking Ishihara's bill?). Basically there's this salaryman who's an otaku and a virgin... on the eve of his 30th birthday he wants to lose his virginity with an inflatable doll his colleague lent him and is stopped by none other than the God of Sex himself, who came down from heaven to help him lose his virginity. And he won't stop haunting him until it happens!

wow, it really went all out in the first episode!! At first they troll us about returning after the year break with lousy 4:3, then they switch to 16:9 and then we find out there's a 2 year timeskip and the viewers are trolled along with poor Shinpachi, who's gone as far as shedding tears of blood XD

sex change operations, crossdressing, and mostly lots of brain fuck... it was the best returning episode I have ever<\/i> seen. This is the only anime that I think of as better than the manga. seriously. No one does it like Gintama does.

The team I love just won the spring koshien championship!!!! \\(^O^)\/<\/font><\/b>
I've been getting up early for the past 2 weeks to see cute japanese high school boys play the game~(spring koshien is shorter than summer koshien so it was only 12 days)

Tokaidai Sagami were one of the teams I was rooting for in summer koshien because I saw them win the Kanagawa tournament. When they came up to play their first spring game, I realized that I really love them, and it was so different seeing them play than the other games when I felt objective and went either for those that seemed to be winning or the cuter ones XD'

I don't remember if I whined here last summer how they were so badly defeated in the summer finals (1-13, I couldn't even bear to finish watching), but it made me extremely anxious to see the final game today. Glad they played well, and won 6-1 (that 1 run they gave was in the final inning, with 2 outs and there were only 1 strike left to finish the game! aaah!)

Also worth to note, yesterday in the semi-finals, they fulfilled my dream of seeing a Grand Slam Homerun!!! TWICE<\/i>!! wow!! (they won 16-2!!!)

I hope they can make it again to summer koshien and this time win it, I'll be crossing my fingers for them (and will get up early! even in the middle of the night!!) :D

GINTAMA<\/a>!!!!!<\/font><\/b> (so disappoint. they didn't call it Gintama Z after all!) I'm sure this will make the spring season awesome regardless of whatever other anime I'll be watching or not.
Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi<\/a><\/b> - finally a new BL anime, but from experience, they only animate the crappy stuff so we shall see. What more it's from the same mangaka of Junjou Romantica and I hated<\/i> it. But will give this a try anyway. Hope the characters won't be annoying ._. (AHHH JUST CHECKED THE CAST.. 3 OF MY TOP FAVORITE SEIYUU IN IT!!! dammit, now moved to will watch!)

Pan-chan showed me on niko a video of seiyuu voice comparison from their earlier roles to more recent ones. One of those seiyuu was my 2nd favorite, Namikawa Daisuke<\/b> ♥ except he was a kid in the earlier role *O* SOOOO CUUUUUUUUTE I DIEZ
I knew he was in the industry from a young age, since I saw in his credits he dubbed the kid in the Japanese dub of The Witness (1985 the one with Harrison Ford, which also had a small first role for my beloved DSG Viggo Mortensen), but didn't know he had an anime too and I really wanted to hear him as a kid!!

So anyway, I searched for the anime and luckily found a sub. It's an gundam ova called Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket<\/b> (as far as Gundam shows go, this one is actually interesting! And it's only 6 eps...). And NamiDai has a main role as a curious kid... and did I mention he's friggin adorable? x3

He's supposed to be 13 (1989) but sounds much younger.

Anyway, I looked for it on YT so I could post one here, but there were only dubs Dx
but spanish subs use the Japanese audio, so here you go, it's from ep 3, but Daisuke is voicing right at the start so you can only listen to the first 20 seconds if you want to hear his cuteness :D

I mostly read BL manga (not always, really) and most of them are sadly, crap... but since I've read so many already, I've found some good ones that I liked.
I know I have a certain taste and it's subjective, but this would be like a referral list for me so that in a few years I could check the tag and remember this title<\/strike> why I liked it! And maybe on the way, someone else might enjoy my picks :)
Oh yeah, I'm not going to provide any download links here - as someone not living in America who can't readily buy manga, every time scanlations are not available anymore it creates a problem for me so I won't be exposing the sources where I get the manga publicly. When there's a manga I really love (like this one) I do buy the book(s) (usually in Japanese and then use the scanlations as practice but I have bought some in English as well), but I prefer to only buy what I love and not blindly buy a manga for the reason I brought up before (also the shipping fees are atrocious, especially when it's a pile of books so I have to be selective). If you can buy manga, of course I encourage you to buy, if you want to sample it first like I do and can't find links, just PM me and I'll gladly help.<\/blockquote>


My first pick <\/b><\/u> (which I've just read a few days ago)

This manga is one of the most emotional stories I've read. I loved the story so much I didn't even care there was no (or very little) boy on boy action. This is the story of Narukawa Riya, a talented violinist who studies at a prestigious music school. His father is a famous virtuoso who trains his son very strictly from a young age. While his father is setting plans for him to study in America, Riya develops a case of multiple personalities disorder and runs away, cutting his fingers.

The story actually begins with Ikeda Atsushi, a simple college boy, who finds Riya unconscious and bleeding near his house. Since he's always picked up stray cats as a kid, he can't help but taking in this stray cat too. Riya appears to be bratty, ill-mannered and hating his talented \"twin brother\". This is \"Black\" Riya, who doesn't know how to play the violin and doesn't resemble \"White\" Riya, who is polite, kind, shy and submissive. Whenever \"White\" is in control of the body, he has no recollection of \"Black\" or what he was up to during that time, so of course he's very confused to find himself in Atsushi's house. While \"White\" has an apparent connection to his senpai at school, \"Black\" develops an attachment to Atsushi, looking for him when he's escaping so Atsushi entrusts a key to his apartment in \"White\"'s hands which causes some misunderstanding and then some incidents when the senpai (who's of course in love with Riya) sees him with the key.

I love how this story slowly develops. When Riya's cousin (Saki, who later gets a manga of his own which I want to read!) comes for a visit and finds out about Riya's case, he hires Atsushi as a live-in maid and aside for cleaning and cooking and watching over Riya, Atsushi also has to report to him on all the \"Black\" incidents. Saki also reveals to Atsushi where the disorder have stemmed from. Atsushi wants to help Riya and he's the only one that sees both personalities as one.

Things get a little angsty, with \"White\" Riya feeling like he's losing grasp on himself and his sense of reality, the senpai trying to force himself on Riya without knowing anything, \"Black\" Riya feeling inferior and unwanted and Atsushi who realizes he doesn't just love Riya as a little brother and fights to control his urges because he doesn't want to take advantage of Riya's fragile mental state (he's such a good boy!).

Don't worry there's healing and sex (healing sex? x3) in the mix and the conclusions are very satisfying. I even shed some tears at the end (but I was on my period so it could have been the hormones...)<\/strike>.

The art is very beautiful, and the characters are detailed. It's a very character driven story and I got sucked in that I didn't really notice anything bad. This story is just perfect in my eyes, though the sex scene might have been too soon after the first time Atsushi tries to fight his urges when \"Black\" wants him, but since it's only 3 volumes it couldn't be helped. The sex is not graphic at all, but in this case I don't have a complaint, it fits the style.

on even more troubling news, I've seen this tidbit about Minekura-sensei, one of my favorite mangakas, on MAL:

According to the official blog, mangaka Minekura Kazuya<\/b><\/a> had a tumor surgery and left the hospital. She was diagnosed as having an ameloblastoma<\/a> and had the whole right maxilla removed. She has recovered the health but it will take long until she can resume working on manga. She permanently lost the skin sensation of the right half of the face and has a great difficulty in eating, drinking and speaking. She thanked the fans for sending Senbazuru<\/a> origami, which filled her hospital room and encouraged her when she was suffering from the pain and the distress.

She lost her whole uterus in 2007.

I knew her manga were on hiatus for a while, but I had no idea it was because of something this serious. I'm so glad she's making a recovery and hope she's going to make a full recovery, as much as possible. She's just so talented and Wild Adapter and Saiyuki are among my favorite series ever. It would be sad if she weren't able to finish them, so I hope she'll be able to resume work on them eventually, however long it takes. They are her life work, definitely. Well, I hope 2011 will be a positive year for her as well!

I don't know how it happened, yesterday was the real breakthrough when I suddenly wrote almost 5k in one seating, otherwise my writing was really slow and I wasn't sure I was going to finish.

Not too shabby but the last couple of days have been slow because I wasted lots of time on research, as well as not knowing where my story is going >_>
It's the first time I'm writing \"blind\" without any notes for the plot or key scenes, because I was busy working on my other WIP stories and started researching too late... only got setting notes D:


I'm worried about the pace, that I'm not too fast or too slow.. and also my first attempt at writing real 3rd person limited narrative!

All very stressing, BUT it's still fun! And I even had a surprise sex scene! (well, maybe not according to Bill Clinton ;D)

Ugh. Right now I'm getting a migraine T_T hope it will go away quick... *sigh*
