Mindful Remixing

myNoise has now passed 300 generators. If you count by sliders instead of titles, this adds up to more than 3,000 individual tracks! Knowing people may want to mix generators together, all these tracks have been designed so their combinations always remain pleasant. For musical soundscapes, this means many constraints to respect, such as keeping a shared tempo and key between generators.

There are two ways to combine soundscapes. You can open several generators in different tabs, or you can explore the world of Composites. These are soundscapes whose sliders come from other generators on myNoise. The one currently playing shows how powerful this technique can be. To learn how to build them, see the "Create Your Own" section below.

I rarely create Composites myself, because most of my time goes into recording and designing original sounds. I prefer to leave this space to myNoise users who enjoy building their own mixes, sometimes as a mindful practise.

When you support the project, you gain access to the Community section, where you can listen to what others have made. Some users have become very skilled at this.

Recently, Sophie became the top contributor in that section. I wanted to thank her by highlighting one of her lesser-known, but excellent, remixes here in the official section of myNoise.

This Composite blends tracks from three soundscapes: String Above, Sound Journey, and Alpha Omega. The result is not a simple sum of its parts, but a new experience of its own. That is what makes Composites so fascinating.

If you would like to explore the Community section and discover the creations of Sophie and many others, consider becoming a patron of myNoise.

Released by Stéphane on January 8th, 2026 and made possible by those who choose to support myNoise. Thank you Anthony, Melissa, Hailey, Lars, Kenneth, Alex, Stephanie, Karla, Luca, Emma, Tamsen, Alonso, Louis, Carrie and Johann

 Social Media

I am leaving social media. What once connected us has become a hollow space governed by greedy algorithms. Even my followers no longer see my posts! My newsletter is different: it delivers messages directly from me to you. And if you reply, I read it and answer. Plus, by subscribing, you show your love for the project and help keep me motivated to create new soundscapes.

 AI

Nature sounds are recorded in the field, and musical soundscapes are composed by musicians. Generative AI is never used to create myNoise soundscapes. Learn more here.

Create Your Own

Use a laptop or desktop computer, as you will be asked to use keyboard shortcuts.

To create your custom composite generator, browse the site for slider contents: open any generator on myNoise, and select the sliders you want to use in your custom set by 'zeroing' all others, then hit [c] to collect all active sliders into a hidden stack. Move to a next generator and repeat the process until you have accumulated 10 sliders. Now hit [shift+c] to render your custom composite generator. At any point, press [x+c] to clear the hidden stack.
